We regret to report that the Ladies tourna- ment scheduled for last Sunday was cancelled . due to lack of entries. There are quite a few lady members who manifest a lot of interest in golf but unfortunately there does not exist among them enough initiative or leadership to or- ganize their efforts into forming a ladies club. Scheduling any ladies event to be successful should be done by themselves and until they are ready to put some effort in the formation of a club or committee their activities wil be quite limited. It is hoped after the above mentioned dis- appointment the ladies now realize that a ladies club is essential and some steps will be taken in organization before next season. The date for the wind-up ban- quet has been set for October 23rd All members should try to keep this date open for the event. An entertaining evening is being planned with a dinner at which Jack Thomas will review this years' activities and plans for next year. RECREATION BRIEES -- (By Buck) The Labour Day Festival held recently was a tre- mendous success, despite the weather conditions. A total of 950 entries were received for the Track & Field events. The Terrace Bay Teen Club laid out a good programme of events for young and old alike. . Judging from this years interest and participation, this Sports Day could well bloom into one of the larger Sports Days'in this area and become a two-day event. The local Unions - Pulp and Sulphite and the Electrical Workers Union deserve creditable mention for their efforts as the sponsors of the Fes- tival. We can all look forward to next year with something bigger in store. SENIOR FASTBALL Senior Fastball has had a lengthy -: rest due to the adverse weather condi- tions. The two teams - Costa's and Kenmac's are presently tied in their Semi-Final series. Caccamo's are a~ waiting the winners of this series to play-off in the finals of the Terrace Bay Fastball Association championship. A combined Senior ball club from Schreiber-Terrace Bay put on a good display of Fastball at the recent Nipi- gon Fall Festival.
