Both boys received gardening awards, a Trophy and watch, Maurice as Junior and Werner as Senior, from Local 665, International Pulp, Sulphite and Paper Mill Workers, Maurice was also aggregate show winner in the Junior Gardeners receiving the Horticultural Society's Shield.
