Yates had Mrs. Yates' father, John Quarrel! and her sister, Mrs.N.E.Terry of Elgin, Murrayshire, Scotland, visiting them. This is the first meeting of the two sisters in almost eight- een years. Mr .Quarrell, who served through two wars with the Cameron Highlanders, is now retired and com- mutes b etween Scotland and Canada, dividing his time between Mrs.Terry and her daugh ter and his two sons, William and John Jr. and daughter Mar- garet (Mrs .F.J.Ferguson) at the Lakehead, and Chris (Mrs. Yates) in Schreiber . Church in Schreiber was adorned with pink gladiolus for the wedding on July 3lst of Joyce Esther Valentino, daughter of Mr.and Mrs.Evasio Valentino and John Jarosj, son of Mrs.Joseph Jarosj of Renwer, Man., and the late Mr.Jarosj. Father J.M.Cano officiated Miss Carole Lalonde was organist and Giovanni Ceb- rario the soloist. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a formal gown of nylon over taffeta, the basque bodice having bias band centered with rose pattern- ed lace applique, scoop neckline and lily point sleeves. The controlled skirt with flat front was enhanced by spray of lace applique. Unpressed pleats widened to form a chapel train fastened by a self tie bow and streamers. Her headdress was a spray of forget-me-nots and seed pearls centered by satin roses holding a four-tier scalloped veil of silk illusion. She carried a crescent of Red Delight roses highlighted with white satin leaves. The bridesmaid, Miss Marion Prescott, chose a short gown in shrimp organza over taffeta with con- trolled fullness in the skirt, three quarter sleeves and scoop neckline. CADET INJURED AT BANFF CAMP Mr.and Mrs.Gary Drake were notified th at their son, Master Cadet Boyd Drake was injured while at cadet camp at Banff. It is understood the boys were on bivouac in the mountains and, when fel- ling trees to construct a temporary bridge, one fell on Boyd. He was taken to a Military Hospital in Calgary. MARKS SEVENTY-EIGHTH BIRTHDAY Anne Marie, her thirteen-year-old granddaugh- ter, made a birthday cake to Mark Mrs .George Lemieux' 78th birthday on July 27. Mrs. St.Jean, (Emmaline Lemieux) went with Anne Marie, Larry, Leon, Butch, Denise and Jeanine to present the cake and enjoy a surprise party in Grandma Lemieux home . Mrs.Larry Bourke (Val .Lemieux) and son Lorne also called with congratulations . Mrs.Lemieux leaves to visit her daughter Jean- nette (Mrs.Oscar Paradis) in Coniston and daughter Olive (Mrs.C.L.Snyder) in Ottawa. Mrs. Harvey Carmichael is in Terrace Bay Hospi- tal. Mrs.Ralph Morrill is in St.Joseph's Hospital, Port Arthur, convalescing following surgery.
