SUCCESSFUL VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL HELD A very successful vacation Bible School was con- ducted at Schreiber Lutheran Church from July 5th | to 9th. There were seventeen children enrolled-- three in Junior High taught by Connie Deck--five in Junior taught by Mrs. F .Eickmeier and nine in kindergarten, taught by Mrs.L.Schaan and Mrs.D. Josus. The theme "God's Children Pray" was carried out through bible lessons and art projects. A closing program was held on July 9th at which time parents and friends heard and viewed the week's achievement. The assistance of the parents was greatly appreciated. WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED AT PARTY One of the most delightful social occasions of the summer was the party arranged by the family of Mr. and Mrs.William Randa to honor their thirty-ninth wedding anniversary on July 0. Dinner were held in both Schreiber and Terrace Bay and during the evening in the Randa home a mock wedding supposedly duplicating the parents marriage | was an outstanding success, due to the research and and ransacking for clothes to truly portray the scene. Betty Randa, (daughter-in-law) was the groom, Diane Zvonar (Randa) was the bride, Norma Vescio (Randa) the best man, Beverley Weaver (Randa) and Barbara Pay ette (Randa) the bridesmaids, with Sally Cote as the priest. The Randa family, all present, were Norma (Mrs. Frank Vescio) and family of five, Diane (Mrs. John Zvonar) and family of three of Port Arthur, Joy (Mrs. Peter O'Hara) and daughter of Toronto,Mr.and Mrs. Bill Randa Jr. and five children, Beverley (Mrs. Jerry Weaver and five children, Barbara (Mrs .Reg .P Payette) and three children, all of Terrace Bay. Also here for the occasion were Mr.and Mrs.Chas . Ewart } (sister) of Long Lac, Mr.and Mrs.Alvar Randa (Bro- ther) of Nakina, Mr.and Mrs.Wilson Pittman (niece) White River, Mr.and Mrs .Raimo Randa of Sault Ste. Marie, Mrs.Donald Robertson (sister) of Fort William, Mr.and Mrs.Ivan Salmonson, Nakina, Mrs. Pearl Luxton, Lorraine Luxton, Mr.and Mrs.Jim Luxton of Geraldton, Mr.and Mrs.Honis Nasi (Cousins) of Port Arthur and fifteen: local friends of both Schreiber and Terrace Bay, making it a gala occasion. A money tree and many other gifts were presented to the happy couple, known affectionately to everyone as Min and Bill. Mrs .Charlie Pearson and Barry are visiting in St Thomas. There was great scattering of high school cadets CADETS LEAVE FOR SUMMER COURSES this July when Master Cadet Jody Davis went to Pettawawa for two weeks training, following which he goes to summer course in the Barbadoes. Master Cadets Boyd Drake and Ricky Chicoine will go to Banff Cadet Camp after two week's course in London, | Ont. Bill Drake, Ken Ross, Fred Nicol, Tom Relph and Claude Martin go to first year training at Ipper- wash; Sean Paradis is taking driver mechanic's course and Tom Collinson a Cadet Leader's course in Pettawawa where Ray Guillet of Holy Angels School staff is also taking a civilian instructor's course. MANY VISITORS AND HOLIDAY MAKERS Mrs .Eddy Gerow has returned home with her daugh ter Mrs.Lee Briggs to Spokane, Washington for a visit. Gail and Cathy Bottomley have gone to Sudbury to spend a month with their grandparents. Rodney Bryson, RCN, is home from the east coast visiting his pa rents, Mr.and Mrs.Jack Bryson. Mr.and Mrs.Wesley Miller will spend their vaca- tion touring various parks in the immediate area. Mr .and Mrs .Russell Macadam had the latter's uncle, Fred Parker of Montreal, visiting them last week. Judy Lidkea of Fort William is visiting her cousin Karen Lidkea. Cathy LeBlanc is having her holidays driving the Circle Route with her aunt and uncle, Mr.and Mrs. J.Santerre. The party will go on to visit in Ottawa and Kapuskasing. Mr .and Mrs.Jim Riley and family of Kingston were here visiting Jim's father, Bob Riley and other rela- tions. Bob Hollyman and his fiancee, Miss Carole Lim- brick of Fort William are the guests of Mr.and Mrs. Burton Phillips. Miss Lee Ann Eaton is the first girl in the district to be taking her nurse's training through the course at Ryerson Institute which was just inaugurated last year. Mr.and Mrs.George Burns and family are spending their vacation in Vancouver. Mr .and Mrs.Gino Caccamo are driving the Circle Route and will continue on to visit in eastern cities. Mr.and Mrs .George Lidster, son Terry and daugh- ier Shiela-Anne of Regina are holidaying here with the Bill Cocks and Bob Spadoni families.
