Caccamo's and Costa's met in the first game and Kenmac's getting the bye. The powerful Caccamo club up-ended Costa's 17-6 and went on to'edge Kenmac's 7-5-in the final game The tournament was organized on short notice. We were orginally scheduled to play in the tournament at White River on July Ist, however, due to a mis- understanding over the entry fee, our Kenmac team was not represented and the local league executive decided to hold their own tournament. Several team officials who | have talked to were greatly displeas- ed with the tournament at White River. From all indications, it is quite likely that the Terrace Bay Men's Senior Fastball Association will have-an open tournament here on July Ist, 1966. Exhibition Fastball: We had two outside teams visit Terrace Bay a week ago for 3 games of fastball. Manitouwadge Senior All-Stars got an even-split in their two games with our local All-Stars. Terrace Bay All-Stars shaded Manitouwadge 5-2 in their first game behind the steady pitching of "Whipper" Billy Stachiw. He gave up 2 hits in the game. In the second game, Manitouwadge edged Terrace Bay 5-4, in a game Got the CHURCH of youre July 15, 1965 SCHREIBER ST. JOHN'S ANGLICAN CHURCH - Rev. R.J.S. Once again Stachiw took mound duty for the second game. He kept Manitou- wadge at bay for seven full innings and in the last two innings, his arm started to give him trouble. In the extra inning, Coach Watson went in to pinch-hit for Brown and drove a hard ground ball to second base to score Quan home for the winning run. The Terrace Bay club was, by no means, an All-Star club, but mainly players from the Kenmac team. They were bolstered by the reliable catchingand hitting of Tom Pollard. Tom proved himself to be one of the better ballplayers in both games. For the ball fans that were not there, they missed two exceptionally good ball. games. In another game that afternoon, our local girls, who call themselves the K.C. 9, went down to a sound defeat at the hands of Dawson Road Athletic Club (Port Arthur) 23-1. The K.C. 9 ball team is all girls 16 years of age and under who have been organized for the first time in 6 years. This was the first game our girls have ever played competitively with outside teams. The Dawson Road girls have played as a unit for several years and had a little too much finesse for our girls. If our girls stay to- gether another season as a ball club - "LOOK OUT" Track And Field: Six of our top athletes from Terrace Bay will attend the Royal Canadian Legion Track and Field Clinic July 28-31 in Marathon. The athletes are: Elaine Rajotte; Jill Crandlemire; Peter Heenan; Bobby Robinson; Gail Dakin and Dave Falzetta. They are being sponsored by the Terrace Bay Royal Canadian Legion and the Terrace Bay Recreation Association. Continued on Page 7
