NEW FISHING & HUNTING AREA AVAILABLE Hunters and fishermen will be please to learn that the Abi tibi Power and Paper Company is now allow- ing them to use the Auden Road north of the Onaman River. The opening of the Auden Road north to Auden came shortly after the Nipigon-Onaman Crown Game Preserve was abolished. This will be good news for sportsmen as a vast area north of the Onaman River is now available to hunters. This will help to dis- perse hunting pressure to the previously unhunted region formerly in the Preserve. The opéning of the Preserve will also assist in wildlife management, es- pecially if older animals, particularly moose, are harvested by hunters this fall . HOSPITAL ASSOCIATION TO EXPLAIN WORKINGS Toronto - Hospitals in more than eighty Ontario communities will be making a concerted effort this summer to explain the workings of their emergency service to the public. They believe th at widespread uncertainty about the purpose and set-up of hospital emergency departments not only leads to public re- lations problems but can also have an adverse effect on the patient. To clear up some of these misunderstandings and help people to make the best use of their available NEWS REBEKAHS HOLD DISTRICT MEETING Mrs.Dora Weaver, the new district deputy presi- dent, accepted the reins of office from Mrs.Gloria Legrow, retiring president, at a district meeting of Rebekah Lodges held in Schreiber recently. Mrs. Weaver presented the past president Jewel to Mrs. Legrow. Mrs.Anna Laine of Ruby Lodge was elect- ed district secretary. In October Mrs.Weaver will start the lengthy duty of installing all new officers in district #41. There were thirty representatives attending the meet ing which was held in the afternoon, followed by a dinner in the United Church Hall . Mrs. E.J.Brennan who died on June 25th follow- ing a long illness, was 81 years old and a pioneer citizen of Schreiber. She was a member of Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church and two years ago was presented with a scroll in appreciation of thirty two years membership in the Catholic Women's League. Mr.and Mrs.Jack Bottomley and daughter Connie are visiting the Norman and Neil Bottomley fam- ies. Mr.Bottomley is being transferred by the RCN from Ottawa to the west coast.
