This latter trophy, now well-filled with names, will be retired to the display cabinet in the Recrea- tion centre. The first names to appear on the new trophy are those of Thor Olsen, Dene Clancy, Jim Beddard and Elaine Zwir. Runner up in this 'Spiel was Hec McLeod with Stella and Harry Gusul and Liz Burns. In the Consolations also were Jim MacDonald with Ollie and Jack Chapman and Phyl Kelty. Further six ender pins were awarded by Ray Cousineau and went to Lou Duquette, Marge Hamilton, Hugh and Hilda Brophy :in mixed curl- ing; Jerry Weaver, Don Wilson, Art Reynolds and Doug Thompson; Rune Ostling rink with Sam Chi- coine, Alan Girdwood and Don Hencher. The very excellent program concluded with danc- ing to the music of Fred McColeman and his group from Schreiber . CURLING BANQUET (Continued from page 8) In the ladies Division the Club Championship had been won by a rink skipped by Heather Lafontaine, with Vivian Gresdal, Audrey Smith and Margaret Knight, to receive the Canadian Oil Trophy presen- ted by Rene Gaudet, their local representative. These ladies were also eligible for six-ender pins presented on behalf of the Molson representative by Ray Cousineau. Mr.Cousineau then presented the Molson Trophy to winners of the afternoon curling, Jean Megraw skip with Evelyn Shivas, Irene Kettle and Alice Farrow. Ann Latour with Bea Fawcett, Inga Schmiedschen and Lil Kotonen were recipients of the Seagram Trophy presented by representative Punch McDougall. For the first time since its presentation to the Club Saul Laskin was on hand to present the Laskin Trophy, this year to Marge Hamilton skip, Agnes Paulsen, Beverley Randa and Vera Kennedy. The Men's Curling Club Championship was won this year by Lou Duquette, Dan and Joey Kenney and Emil Boucher to receive the Caccamo Trophy presented by Jack Caccamo. Runner-up was Jim MacDonald with Jack Caccamo, Brian MacDonald and Don Hersey . The Hiram Walker Trophy went to A Division win- ners again the Lou Duquette rink and their runner-up was Hec McLeod, Charlie Koski, Pete Diduch and Keith Koski. Norm Barrington for Carling's made the presenta- tion of the Carling Trophy to B Division winner John Benko with Arnold Chadney, Ted Kostiuk and Joe Szpak. Runner up to this division was Ken Johnson, Joe Dejonghe, Lorne Vezina and Willy Adamo. The Northern Builders Sales representative, Mr.M. Thierry, presented their trophy to C Division winners, Thor Olsen, Tom Battershill, George Martin and Reg .Cotton. Runner up was John Gross, Alf Gerow, Murray Dorman and Joe Figliomeni . The Club Bonspiel winners were the recipients of the Soughton Jewellers Trophy presented by Fred Soughton. This was awarded to Lou Duquette with Jim Hale, Ken McLeod and Don Teniuk and their runner-up was Hugh Hamilton with Gordon Dodge, Don Hersey and Joe Szpak. There is only one permanent camp remaining as most cutters now commute. Some 225,000 cords of wood are used annually at the Mill Division in Terrace Bay in addition to other raw materials . The weekly freight bill is $60,000. Original production capacity of 270 tons per day has increased and is now aimed at 380 tons per day. Bleached pulp produced annually is now 130,000 tons--worth more than Twenty Million Dollars. With 525 on the winter payroll and 625 on the sum- mer payroll, annual earnings by Mill employees is almost Three and a half Million dollars. Conclud- ing his interesting and pertinent summary, Mr. Ferrier felt this to be only a part of the picture, rather that in Kimberly-Clark it is where people count. Reports were given by Vice Chairman Roy Bray on Tourism and by Joe Commisso on Membership. Presention of the proposed revision of the Consti- tution was made by Jack Kelty and accepted by the members. This declared the fiscal year January to December.
