April 15, 1965 SPRING FASHIONS 'SHOWN IN MOTOR HOTEL TERRACE BAY With the first hint of spring, fashions must be explored fully, and for this purpose Anford's presented their Spring Showing Thursday evening in the lobby of the Terrace Bay Motor Hotel, under the sponsorship of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Community Church. Welcoming the ladies who came to view the latest fashions, Mrs. Kay Jeanneret, Commen- tator, noted that the fashions had never been more delightful as the moods changed and a softer more feminine look emerged. A softened silhouette look appeared with more curve, less angle. The popular A- Line and Shift con- tinued in popularity. A variety of fabrics were presented. Wool textures are very interesting ranging from smooth, tight weaves to delicious pouff fabrics with airy weaves and lacy tweeds. Rayons take top fashions honors this spring, many with dramatic prints worn for that special look, and beautiful floating chiffons so utterly flattering, knits were extended right to the coat fabrics, the very practical and popular cottons, with persuasive blends o terylenes, dacrons and arnels. Delicate shades were seen most frequently, pink highlighted for prettiness, but included some sunny yellows and beautiful blues in addition to vivid tonic sparkle of the brightest hues.
