C Event was taken by Lou Duquette, Dm Kenney, Joe Kenney and Emo Boucher who received Cole- man stoves. Runner-up Carl LeBlanc of Ft.William skipped a rink of Brian Madge, Barry McNamee, and Brian Gracey who each received coolers. Third place was taken by Rune Ostling with F. Muldrew, D.Hencher and A.Girdwood and they received aluminum cook kits. In fourth place was A.Slater of Schreiber who received Mountain ruck sacks. On the Slater rink were John Stitt, G. Birch and E.Ray. The last event was won by Carl Konefal of Mara- thon with Bill Samoraday, Ziggy Orzeck and John Koslowski who received sleeping bags. Bermuda camp cots went to runner-up Jack Finnbogasin, H.Smith, L.Godin and Ron Peach of Schreiber. D.English, K.Einarson, B.Hollyman and A.Arm- strong of Fort William took home third place prizes of thermos jugs. Fourth place winners Benny Hayes, Harry Gusul, Cliff Knauff and Joe Shubaly each received a dozen golf balls, courtesy Imperial Oil. | The Bonspiel opened Thursday evenihg with a welcome by the President and piped onto the ice NEWS by Walter McMicking. Thirty-two rinks from Fort William, Manitouwadge, Marathon, Port Arthur and Port Arthur Country Club, Rossport, Schreiber and Kapuskasing participated against local rinks. A buffet supper was served to all curlers on Satur- day evening. Draw chairman was Hector McLeod. SILVER WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED In celebrating their 25th Wedding Anniversary Lorette and Howard Solly rededicated their marriage at a service conducted by Rev.R.Inshaw in St. John's Anglican Church, Schreiber, Saturday morn- ing, April 3. Lorette chose a white lace suit, wedding ring hat and corsage of white roses for the occasion. She was attended by her daughter, Mrs .Sandra Renette and her Godchild Sharon Bougie as Flower girl. Sandra wore a two piece dress in turquoise arnel and matching wedding ring hat. Her corsage was of white carnations. Sharon, in a dress of blue with white trim, carried a nosegay of white baby mums sprayed blue. Grant Solly and Fred Rennette usher- ed the guests to their pews. A reception followed at the Solly home with Sandra Renette and Dodie Bougie as hostesses at the bridal buffet. Lorette and Howard were presented with a money tree by their friends present and en- joyed a second wedding cake with appropriate dec- orations.
