Young Joey Hale drew the ticket to give M.Hogan of Fort William the huge chocolate rooster. On Saturday evening the ladies adjourned to the Terrace Bay Motor Hotel for a banquet. Grace was pronounced by Mary Hale. Jayne Coons was Mis- tress of Ceremony, introducing rinks from Couche- nour, Ft.William, Pt.Arthur, Rossport, Schreiber, Marathon, Heron Bay South, Chapleau, Atikoken, Dryden, Kakabeka and Red Rock. Special awards made at this time went to the rink coming the furthest (E.Schade, M.Ballantyne, M.Lemon and M.McTaggart of Couchenour; to the Larry Norris rink for scoring the biggest end to date (A. Johns, J.Reid and J.Riddell) and the Min McCuaig rink of Schreiber (L.Holmes, M.Martinsen and B.Lidkea) the first rink knocked 'out. Riotous entertainment was provided as Jayne inter- viewed a quartette of Terrace Bay's little whiz kids, Bev.Weaver, Marge Hamilton, Norma Crockford and Lois Shubaly. Elsie Ostling sang a popular little Swedish number before the scene was turned to the Curling Club one winter afternoon as a group of sedate and genteel ladies chatted. This provided one last little dig of the season at the loss of the Silver D, originally scheduled to be held in Terrace Bay, thus removing, we hope, the last shred of locked in frustration of a small but active club. First solo was sung by Louise Gavin, recitation by Ollie Chapman and the chorines were P.Kelty, M.Hale, B.Weaver, F.Gerow, L.Shubaly, M.Hamilton, E.Ostling and Norma Crockford, accompanied hopefully at the piano by Ellen Hodgkiss. Bonspiel Chairman was Phyl Kelty. Mary Hale and Ollie Chapman were in charge of entertainment and on the prize committee with Aggie Paulsen were Elsie Ostling and Pauline Phillips.
