"During this past year, two children and their parent have been flown to Toronto under emergency conditions from Terrace Bay. We hope we were in time to save these young lives. We regret to report that Sandra, after almost a month in hos- pital is still in a very serious condition... Rev.Husser pointed out that it is equally impor- tant insofar as the opportunity is given to all to share with the worried parents during their time of anxiety. The community becomes knit into one big family, each sharing the joys and sorrows of every other member. "I am sure, he continued, no one will want to stand aloof from this Family of those who suffer, and no pa rent will want to deny their child the warmth and security which participation in and acceptance of this help.... brings into each home. . The Ontario Society for Crippled Children was founded by Rotary Clubs in southwestern Ontario in 1922. Many types of service clubs such as Lions, Kiwanis, Kinsmen and others became partners in the effort and now every member of any one of these clubs automatically becomes a memb er of the Society. Concluding with a full resume of the many facets of treatment and centres conducted by the Society throughout the Province, Rev.Husser asked for the wholehearted support of everyone. Like any other child, the crippled youngster en- joys the things of nature. Easter Seal contributions h el pthe girl in the seal above live as normal a life as possible.
