Page & Best wishes are extended to Mrs.Ed.Cavanaugh who again underwent surgery last Thursday in Port Arthur General Hospital. Mr.and Mrs.Frank Ginn enjoyed a visit with their son Frank Jr., Saturday, as he was enroute to Gim- li, Manitoba. Frank has completed basic training in the Airforce at St.Jean, Quebec where he re- eeived an honor mark of 92, standing second in a class of 73. He will receive a red lanyard for this honor. He takes contact training in Gimli until his cgurse in meteorology opens. Errol Morres, a student at Scollar Hall, No.Bay, visited his parents, Mr.and Mrs.Lloyd Morres for a week, _ Gail and Norman McNalty of Toronto, and in- fant daughter, are visiting her mother, Ne Slattery and family for two weeks. A toboggan party was held Sunday afternoon to celebrate the llth birthday of Leslie Ann Cotton. Ten girl friends joined in the games and party lunch which followed. The Loc;al Association to Guides and Brownies will meet Monday, March 22 at 8.30 at the home of Mrs.Gladys Sitch. The C.G.1.T. in Terrace Be are studying Trini- dad this year for Mission study. They previously covered India. The Ontarig Institute of Art are showing a travel- ling exhibit from Northwestern Ontario this week. On Thursday evening Art Club members, husbands and escorts will have a chance to view the exhibit along with the Schreiber Art Club. A commentary will be given by the Schreiber Art Instructor. On Saturday the ex hibit will be open to the pub- lic from 2-5 in the afternoon and 7.30 - 9.30 in the evening. Everyone is invited to attend. SCHREIBER WOMAN DIES IN PORT ARTHUR Mrs. Caroline (Carrie) Weaver 85, widow of the late Robert Weaver of Schreiber, died in Port Arthur hospital Monday \following a lengthy illness. She and her husband came to Schreiber in 1906 from Conse- con, Ont., and he predeceased 'her in 1943. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and active in United Church activities. Surviving are three sons, Hubert, Vernon and Russell; two daughters, Pearl (Mrs. J. Rattray), and Myrtle (Mrs. George Gordon), all of Schrei- ber. A brother Wallace also sur- vives in Consecon, Ont., near Belleville. There are 14 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. UNITED CHURCH TEA Mrs.D.F.Muldrew received for the first hour and Mrs.Wesley Clemens for the second at the St. Patrick tea given by St.Andrew's United Church W.A., on March 13. Correspondence read by Mrs. Jack Stokes included a letter of thanks from the Sisters of St.Joseph in North Bay and Father Kanavy, Diocesan Director, with details regarding the annual convention. Father Cano spoke on changes in the Mass. nation was made to the Sacred Heart Program. Standing convenors reported as follows:- Mrs. Bill Cocks urged more members to attend the discussion group held Monday nights in the Guild Hall: Mrs. Shack reported that certificates will be presented on April 4th to the C.G.C.girls: Mrs.Prescott said that nineteem members took part in the March of Dimes canvass: Mrs. Bill Mullin stated she had writ- ten CKPR-TV urging that better movies be shown on Friday and Saturday nights when teenagers are view- ings Mrs.Chas.Pearson outlined the March Town Council meeting: Mrs.K.Furyk reported visiting many new families in the Parish: Mrs.E.Borutski said that annual reports must be in by the end of March: Mrs. G.Cataford reported that, in order to be valid, as coupons, labels must include both the circle and the firm's address: Mrs.R.Campbell reported that Guides attended two scout functions and a Church parade. There are 27 Guides and eight will be enrolled this week. She asked for assistant leaders. A Bingo was planned for March 26 = a guide leader' uniform was ordered and Mrs.Cocks reported on plans for a retirement dinner on March 24. Mrs.L.V.Bourke won the attendance prize and other names drawn were Mrs. Bilary O'Brien and Mrs. F.Speziale. A do-
