THE NEWS March Il, 1965 TELEGRAPHER'S BONSPIEL (Continued) The third event was won by Johnnie Slobodian, Bruce Morgan, Gordie Halverson and Mike Morgan. They collected prizes donated by Canadian Tire, Importers and Distributors and an old Telegrapher, George Schaan. A grand time was had by all and the boys look for- ward to meeting again next year at the annual spiel . Mrs. McGregor took a leading part in community ac tivities and formed a wide circle of friends. Mr.McGregor died suddenly following a heart attack suffered in Toronto in 1945. Mrs.Mc Gregor continued to live there until her death. She was a native of Montreal where her funeral took place. Mrs.W.G .Furlonger was hostess for the March meeting of St.John's Anglican Church Women's Aux- iliary, with Mrs.A.C .Rigelsford presiding. A lengthy letter from Mrs.T.H.Birth, educational secretary, Superior Deanery, presented suggestions offered at the annual meeting in Nipigon for stressing religious education and mission study at W.A.meet- ings. The president was appointed to attend the meeting to discuss ways and means of preventing distribution of obscene literature. A substantial: donation was made to the Church wardens. A bake sale was plan- ned for March 27 in the Alcorn Block. Members were asked to save T.V.dinner foil plates, for packing take-out teas and dinners. A most interesting letter was received from a mem- ber of the W.A. in Spanish Town Cathedral, Jamaica This is the first of a regular exchange of letters be- tween members of that W.A.and the Schreib er branch. Mrs.Gladys Madigan was named April hostess.
