Photo by Inez McCuaig The recently formed Division of Terrace Bay-Schrei ber Sea Cadet Corps, RCSCC Superior, is one of the most active groups in the area, meeting each Monday evening. Their syllabus calls for full basic training, with rifle drill, compass reading, etc., and includes a two week summer camp. The officers are Lieut.James Cumming = Executive Officer, D.Brearley - Gunnery Officer G.McKay - Supply Officer, A.McKechnie - Padre T.G..'Husser and Lieut.Surgeon Dr. M.McCausland. LOCAL RINK WINS PRIZES IN CHAPLEAU Mrs. Minnie McCuaig, Miss Myrna McCuaig, Mrs. Nellie Gray and Mrs.Rita Swanson curled in Chap- leau last week, winning a prize for a six-ender - a Molson prize and another for rink travelling the greatest distance to attend the Spiel. Mr. Emanuel McCouan was honored on his eight- eith birthday at a family party arranged by Mrs. Leonard Hiller and family, Mr.and Mrs. Frank MacDonald and family, Mr.and Mr Jack McCouan and family, Mr.and Mrs. Ivan Johnson and family, Wallace and Earl McCouan of Schreiber and Pat McCouan of White River. Photo by Inez McCuaig J.D.(Jimmy) Bryson, retired locomotive engineer, studies with great interest the family Bible he re- cently received from Alnwick, England. The Book, in which the family records were started in 1846, becomes Jimmy's now as the last surviving male in his family. There are, however, four sturdy grandsons in the Jack Bryson family to carry on family traditions into the next generation. 99TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED Mrs.Alex McGregor of Schreiber marked her 99th birth day quietly in the home of her daughter, Mrs. W.G.Furlonger. Reeve F.V Harness called with the greetings of the Town and presented a personal gift of a bouquet of red roses. Many other cards and gifts marking the occasion were received. Mrs.McGregor parti- cularly appreciated letters from nieces recalling happy holidays spent in the McGregor home. NEW STAMPS-TO BE ISSUED On March 3rd a stamp honoring Internation Co- operation Year will be on sale. Others to appear in Post Offices over the country this year are - April 28th - British Columbia and Manitoba Florals - one on Space Research (date unannounced) - one to honor Canada's new Flag on June 30th - the Prince Edward Island Floral on July 2Ist and a commemmorative stamp in honor of Sir Winston Churchill on August 12th. In September a stamp on Inter-Par- liamentary Union Conference and Centennial of the choice of Ottawa as national capital is followed on Oct. I3th by issue of 3 and 5 cent Xmas stamp}.
