SMALL TOWN - CAN NEVER HAVE SILVER "ptt Twenty-six curlers travelled to Port Arthur last Tuesday to watch the Silver "D" Curling and attend the Meeting that night of the Ontario Ladies Curling Council. This group was comprised of members of the Terrace Bay Ladies Curling Club and two menters from the Schreiber Ladies Curling Club. Their purpose in attending the meeting was to have Mrs. J. Coons, President of the Terrace Bay Ladies Curling Club, present a brief to the delegation. This brief was con- cerned with the removal of the Silver "Dt playdowns from their town by the sponsor. The reason for this presentation was to speak to the Ontario delegates on behalf of smaller towns who might wish to host playdowns: and are béing discriminated against because of their size. They were also concerned with the question of who governed the Ladies championship playdowns; the sponsor or the Ladies Curling Association. This remains the responsibility of the sponsor under the pre- sent constitution. No immediate result could be anticipated from their presentation, but the interest of many delegates had been aroused.
