Mrs.Ferrier closed with prayer and was thanked by Mrs. Hopper. Mrs.Emily Lohr was convenor of the lunch. Senator Robertson was accompanied by Mr.Harvey Smith and Mr. John Simpson of Port Arthur for the meeiing. Parents of the New Year baby and the Proficiency Award winners were also invited to attend the dinner meeting. Kiwanian James Hale made a presentation of gifts from local merchants, Caccamo's Groceteria, Costa's Foodmaster, Waghorn's Pharmacy, Robinsons Ltd., Sough ton Jewellers and Anford's Ltd., and a cheque from the Kiwanis Club to Mr.and Mrs. Paul Rochon whose ninth child, Elizabeth Irene was born January 3 in Terrace Bay Private Hospital . Proficiency Award winners from both elementary schools had been invited to receive their school Plaques and individual medallions. Ted Petrus, who attended St.Martin's Separate School last term, was present, but Jane Colborne of the Public School, who has since moved to Port Arthur, was unable to attend. President Bob Hales announced plans were being finalized by the Club to sponsor the Lakehead Sym- phony Orchestra on their appearance in Terrace Bay on February 27. The Kimberly-Clark Corporation had volunteered support for this event and a cheque was accepted with gratitude from Mr. Harvey Smith, president of Lakehead Freightways.
