The girls had their Christmas Party and the gifts were handed out by the President, Annette Belliveau. A full variety of games was planned by the Con- venor, Dianne Campbell. Food was served by a group of the girls under Lita-Marie Boudreau. The Local Association to Guides and Brownies will hold their Annual meeting Monday, January 25th at 8 o'clock in the small meeting room of the Recreation Centre. The Women of the Moose met Wednesday evening with the Senior Regent, Ann Didura opening the meeting. General business was discussed and the Lodge was notified from Mooseheartthat the Mid- Winter conference will be held in the Port Arthur Moose Home on January 31. There will be more plans made to attend at the January 20 meeting. Child Care chairman, Ann Didura, was in charge of the Chapter Night Program with a raffle and a delicious lunch served by her committee members. The regular monthly meeting of the Catholic Wo- men's League was held Sunday, January l0th in St.Martin's Parish Hall, preceded by the recitation of the Rosary. Mrs. M.Nicol, the president, open- of welcome extended to all present. In the absence of Mrs.J.Kenney, secretary, Mrs. G .Savoy read the correspondence and minutes of the last meeting. Mrs.L.Legault gave the Treasurer's report. Education Convenor Mrs. J.Kennedy remin- ded the ladies that the St.Mark's study group will be held Friday evening in the Church basement and she also gave a report on the Bursary Fund. Mrs.A. Ziegleman gave the membership report. Social Action convenor, Mrs.P.Maleshewski accounted for cards sent out and visitations. Mrs. J.Falzetta gave a statement on the Bake Sale which was held in December and Mrs.A.Regis reported on the Christmas Party. The Resolutions convenor's report was read by Mrs.Falzetta in the absence of Mrs. Whalen. Mrs.Savoy, Spiritual convenor, read an article on the Holy Family and how parents can set an ex- ample for their children. A nominating committee was chosen with members Mrs.A. Ziegleman, Mrs. A.Regis and Mrs.L.St.Louis as chairman. Members are asked to save old calendars to send to the Mis- sions. Guest speaker for the evening, Mr.R.Kenney, Brincipal of St.Martin's School, gave an enlighten- ing talk on the studying habits of students, with a wrong and right way to study and methods of study- ing. He also showed an interesting film strip on the subject. Mrs. Nicol thanked Mr.Kenney. The meeting adjourned as De an Gallagher impart ed his Blessing. Lunch was served by Mrs. Savoy and her committee.
