'i Ald aod BS BAIA SFC « January 7, 1965 NS MRS .HOPPER HEADS LADIES AUXILIARY Returned to office for a second term, Mrs.Lois Hopper chaired the meeting Monday evening of the Ladies Auxiliary as they met in the Terrace Bay Community Church, Mrs.Marilyn Chisholm accom- panied the opening hymn and Mrs.Dorothea Ballentine led the Worship period. Minutes and correspondence were dealt with by the Secretary, Mrs.June Schritt and Mrs.Chisholm presented the financial statement. Chairman of committees reporting were: Ways and Means, Mrs. Lil Harris; Property, Mrs.Eva Haughn; Sick and Visiting, Mrs.Betty Sweet; Program, Mrs.Helen Farreil; Manse Committee, Mrs.Alice Farrow. Mrs. Farrow also presented a report for the Altar Guild, suggesting that though in the past this had alter- nated annually between the afternoon and evening groups, the present Guild were established and willing to continue. The President thanked Mrs. Farrow and accepted with gratitude. Mrs. Hopper announced the forthcoming Study Group to be held in St.Paul's United Church in Port Arthur, January 18 by the U.C.W. and re- quested those available attend. A vote of thanks was to be conveyed to Mrs. Mary Middaugh for the beautiful mural of the Christmas scene she had painted for the Sunday School and which had contributed so much over Christmas. This met with the approval of the membership who voted a portion of their current funds with ten percent of all project monies to be added. Mrs.Harris reminded the ladies to continue saving Canada Packer labels and a letter of appreciation will be sent to Mr.H.Schmiedschen for his helpful- ness in this project. Mrs. Virginia Galvin presented the report of the Nominating Committee and Rev. T.G.Husser con- ducted the election and installation of officers for 1965. Those to serve with Mrs. Hopper are: Vice Chairman, Mrs.Norine Coe - Secretary, Mrs.June Schritt - Treasurer, Mrs. Betty Turner - Ways and Means, Mrs.Galvin - Mrs.Lynn Wilson and Mrs.Doreen Kurylo - Program, Mrs. Shirley Hersey - Property, Mrs.Eva Haughn - Sick and Visiting, Mrs. Betty Sweet and Refreshments, Mrs. Margaret Phillips and Mrs.Mary Pat Knight. Tea and Sandwiches were served by the past exe- cutive as the meeting closed. Bun and Bruce Larson with Marilyn and Robby travelled to Eagle River to spend Christmas with her parents, Mr.and Mrs.Walter Lundeen. They were accompanied by Serge Pelletier of Thompson, Manitoba, their guest prior to Christmas.
