THE FUNERAL SERVICES OF MRS. ELIZABETH LAMB The funeral of the late Mrs.Elizabeth Lamb, 77, whose death in hospital occurred on December 23, was conducted in St.Andrews United Church on December 26th by Rev. D.F.Muldrew. Miss Diane Rummery was organist and hymns sung were "Rock of Ages" and "Jesus Saviour Pilot Me." Pallbearers were George and Alec Gordon (Nephews), Arthur and Edgar LeBlanc, Vic Costa and George Martin, 'Terrace Bay. Interment was in Schreiber Cemetery'. Mrs.Lamb was predeceased by her husband on Nov. 25th this year and is survived by one son, Gideon, of Fort William; four daughters, Ruby (Mrs.E4ward LeBlanc), Mima (Mrs.Frank Hight), both of Montreal, Margaret (Mrs.Garnet Leach) of Fort William and Jessie (Mrs. Harvey McCanna) of Schreiber. Mrs.Lamb was born in Edinborough, Scotland and came to Schreiber 55 years ago. Attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. land Mrs.E.D.McCanna, Mrs.B.McCanna, Red Rock; Mr.and Mrs.Oscar Pakal and family of Nipigon; Mr. Gideon Lamb and daughter Sharon, Mr.and Mrs. Garnet Leach, Linda and Judy Leach, all of Fort William; Mrs.J.Santerre and Mr.and Mrs.George Martin of Terrace Bay. "Chapples" staff enjoyed a very pleasant evening when Mr.Jack Johnston, manager, and Mrs. Johnston entertained them at a Christmas party in their home. Games and contests were played, there was exchange of gifts and the guests were also presented with gifts by their hosts, handkerchiefs and bath salts for the ladies and cigarettes for the men. Later in the even- ing a buffet lunch was enjoyed. Mr.and Mrs. Johnston were presented with a beauti- ful flowering plant. Miss Carol Holmes, R.N., who is on the staff of St.Joseph's Hospital, Pt.Arthur, is home with her parents, Mr.and Mrs.C.G.Holmes. They expect their daughter, Miss Shirley Holmes, R.N., on the staff of Nipigon Memorial Hospital and Mr.and Mrs. Mervin Stoughton of North Bay with them for New Years. $5-00 A COUPLE High Dec. 31, 1964. The C.,P.and T.report was given by Mrs.Chris Morris. A greeting card was received from Mrs. Betty Miller of New Zealand. Mrs. Iris Lidkea was presented with her |5 year veteran jewel by Mrs.Alice Sparkes on behalf of the Lodge. A meeting in connection with the sponsoring of a student to United Nations will be held early in January, together with a committee from the Odd- fellows. Following the meeting a Christmas party for Rebekahs and their husbands and Oddfellows and their wives was held. Mrs.Jessie Macadam showed slides taken while touring Europe this year, a sing- song with Mrs.Agnes Bryson at the piano was en- joyed and there was an exchange of gifts. Mrs. Anna Laine and Mrs. Verna Linkewich convened the program. A salad plate was arranged and served buffet style by the lunch committee, convened by Mrs. Winnie Clemens.
