LEGION AUXILIARY ELECT NEW OFFICERS Mrs Bill Paradis was named president at the Dec- ember meeting of the ladies auxiliary to the Canadia Legion. Others on the slate presented by the nomin- ating committee were Mrs.Gunter, Ist.five president, Mrs.Lloyd Small, treasurer; Mrs. J.Rigeslford, war- den; Mrs. Bruce Lidkea, asst.warden. The second vice president and secretary will be appointed at the January meeting. Plans were checked for the childrens Christmas Party on Dec.20 and it was announced the adults' social evening will be held on December 18. FATHER & SON BANQUET HELD The scouts and cubs annual father and son banquet was held in the Guild Hall with 135 attending. J. Later there will be a program to be arranged by the convenor. The Turner family enjoyed a family re-union this week in the home of Mr.and Mrs.Norman McCuaig, nee Beatrice Turner. Mrs.Bessie Stewart is visiting her daugh ter, Mrs. Harry Martinsen and will spend the Christmas Season between her home and that of Mr.& Mrs.R.Gander. Mrs. Martyn Ryan is a patient in McKellar Hospi- tal. Rodney Bryson, HMCS Yukon, Halifax, is home to spend Christmas leave with his pa rents, Mr.and Mrs. Jack Bryson. Mrs. Bill Gerow was teaching in the public school last week in the absence of Miss Joan Neil--who was called east by the death of her mother. Mrs.lrene Trowsse of Geraldton is visiting her daughter, Mrs. N.J.Jolicoeur and family. Mr.and Mrs.Fred Einarson of Rosseau have returned home after visiting their son Corp. Jim Einarson and his family. Willard J.Kosonic (Laudie) former Schreiber High, School teacher, enjoyed a re-union with two former pupils here--Lorna Holland, now Mrs.C .Scott, and Alex McCuaig--at a teachers' workshop in Owen Sound. Mr. Kosonic is now with Copp-Clark Publishing Co. of Toronto, who arranged the workshop. Mr.McCuaig is inspector of schools for Grey Dist.#1 and city of Owen Sound and Mrs.Scott is Primary Consultant with the Burlington Board of Education. Mrs.Scott gave an address at the workshop -- an analysis of the new approach in mathematics as it affects the younger pupils.
