Active in many of THE NEWS September 24, 1964 of the Town's organizations while resdiing in Terrace they have spent a busy round of entertainment as friends bid a fond adieu. Men of the Mill and Town held a Stag Saturday evening in the Moose Hall presenting Francis with a leather wallet and a purse of Money. An especial momento was a book created on episodes of Francis' sojourn in Terrace Bay. Friday evening, the Pipe- fitters gathered at the home of Scotty Hamilton, giving Francis a travelling bag with their good wishes Jan Hall and Ann Stachiw were co-hostesses at a tea at the home of the latter Friday evening, honoring the departing Vivian Hanna. Neighbors joined in best wishes as they presented her with a patent leather purse. Assisting was Aggie Sinkins. Saturday evening a group of friends held a surprise party at the Hanna home and on this occasion Vivian received a subscription to the local News and a pair of figurines. School friends held a class party Friday afternoon for Rosalyn, presenting her with a set of doll dishes and boudoir set. Sunday after- noon Rosalyn was enter- tained at the home of Sheila St. Louis receiving two dolls from her girlfriends. Doug's class mates in Gr. eight held a party Friday evening in the Rec. Centre, and during the evening presented him with a wrist- watch. Vivian Hanna had her sister, Mrs. Velma Walker and neice and husband, Mr. and Mrs. C. Parsons, all of Fort William, visiting over the past weekend, and joing in the farewell entertainments. SILVER BIRCH CHAPTER MEETS ~ Worthy Matron Althea Fraser and Associate Patron Albert Farrow presided Mondzy evening at the regu- lar meeting of the Silver Birch Chapter No. 264, Order of Eastern Star. Routine business of the organization was conducted and the election and installation of Edna Beddard as Associate Matron followed. Edna Beddard will attend the Grand Chapter as delegate, accompanied by Barbara Haughn, Past Matron, Althea Fraser, Worthy Matron and Annie Baillie , Secretary Word was received from the Worthy Grand Matron, of the appointment of Miss Barbara Haughn as Grand Repre- sentative of the Province of Ontario to the State of Texas, and she will hold this commission for two years A departing member was honored when the Worthy Matron presented Vivian Hanna with a gift from the Chapter of their spoon, and on behalf of the members Aggie Sinkins presented Vivian with a pair of Star earrings.
