President Will Attend FW Rally -- President of the ladies auxil- iary, Canadian Legion branch 109, Mrs. Ivan Johnson and one other delegate yet to be named will attend a rally in Fort Wil- liam Sept. 24-25. FUNERAL HELD FOR SCHREIBER BOY The funeral of Vincent Pasqualino who drow- ned on September 13th, was conducted in Holy Angels Church in Schreiber, on Tuesday Sept- ember 15th by Father Cano. Vincent was born in Italy, came to Schreibe in September 1962. He is survived by his par- ents, Mr and Mrs. D. Pasqualino of Schreiber, two sisters,and two brothers,and his maternal grandmother all in Italy. Pallbearers were: Jim Speziale, Jim Corn- misso, Tony Deleo, Joe Costa, Cosimo Giano,and Tony Costanza of Fort William, The students of Grade seven Holy Angels School, and their tea- cher, Mr. Guillett formed a guard of honour as the body passed down the aisle of the church. ' Attending the funeral from out-of-town were Joe Agostino, brother-in-law, Tony Trichilo of Toronto, Frank Staltari, Jim Ricco,and Tony Costanza of Fort William. Plans for the annual Thanksgiving dinner to be held on October 12th, were discussed. In reply to letter from Mrs. L. Sharp of Beardmore. Schreiber U.C.W. agreed to host the annual district Fall Rally of the association, setting October 7th for the occasion. The me- eting commencing at 2:30 P.M. will be open to all members and be followed by a potluck supper. In the evening the U.C.W. will hold its reg- ular meeting, Several reports of events occurring during the summer recess were given: Mrs. Bill Thrower reported on the sale of baking to to urists was unsucessful. Mrs. 0. Niemi, for the sewing convenor reported on selling quilts, It was anrounced the retreat for U.C.A. wil be held on September 26th, at Loon Lake and those intending to go are asked to contact Mrs. Muldrew. LIBRARY BOARD MEETS The Library Board held its regular meeting for September, last week. It was decided to change the hours. On the September 21st, the library will be closed on Wednesday and Thurs day, open on Fridays both afternoon and even- ing, from 2 to 5 P.M. and from 7 to 9 P.M. The resignation of Mrs. J.M. McGrath was accepted with regret and Mrs. Andrea Hill ap- pointed as librarian. Miss Gwen Hadley, secretary-treasurer, re- ported on books received during the sumer, particular the Americana Encyclopeida. An index for the Geographic magazine, years 1947 to 1962 was ordered. Notice was received that the Bookmobile wi be here on September 24th. D. Sudar stated there will be films, paintings and sculp- ture in addition to books. More plastic book covers were ordered, It was decided to assemble Canadian liter ature in one section and work party will meet to do this and also attempt a more convenient grouping of reference books. Harn- ess leave on Friday to attend an Ontario Hydro Electric convention in Dryden. Mr. G, Scott is in Terrace Bay Hospital. Mr, L. Bourguignon is spending his vacatio in Switzerland. The Busy Bees of the Anglican Church held their regular meeting in Mrs. B. Ellicotte's home. Plans were completed for the annual Fal Hat Show, to be held in The Town Hall on Sept ember 25th, at 8: P.M., with lunch served. Following the meeting a stork shower was held for Mrs. D. May when she received many lovely gifts. Mr. & Mrs. J. Zuback and family of Fort William spent the holiday with Mr. & Mrs. A. Cosgrove, accompanied by Mrs. I.
