GRADE 10 - 11:00 A.M. GRADE 9 - 1:00 P.M. Time tables and book lists will be issued at this time. Text books for Grades 9 and 10 will be supplied by the School Board. Text books for Grades 11 and 12 may be purchased at Waghorn's Pharmacy. Each student is responsible for purchasing personal effect such as binders, a combination lock and physical edu- cation uniformed (colored Kelly Green and White). We would like to have you join our Curl- ing Club in this special year of the Ladies Silver D Championship to be held in our town for the first time. We want you to join the Ladies Curling Club where - there is plenty of enthusiasm, pleasant people and the coming season which appears most promising . On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of next week a member of the Curling Club will contact you by phone. We have a drive on for new members as well as past members. If you are missed, please call 3619. We would like every lady to have a chance to curl. There will be special Curling demonstrations and instructions to all those who have never curled. Terrace Bay Ladies Curling Club September 3rd, 1964 in the small meeting room of the Recreation Centre. The formation of a Search & Rescue Group will be discussed. LIBRARY CIRCULATION STILL CLIMBING The Library reports that circulation is still climbing with standings as follows: 1963 - Children - 652; Adults - 646; Total - 1,298. 1964 - Children - 914; Adults - 958; Total - 1,872. Records 1963 - 88; Records 1964 - 79. Increase of 574 in a year. COSTA'S FASTBALL CHAMPS 'Costa's defeated Moose in the last game of a best- of-three finals to win the House League Fastball Championship and the newly donated Brennagh Jeweller's Trophy. Don Hersey, throwing his first game of the year in the absence of regular pitcher Bill Stachiw, was the winner over Nick Chopty. Costa's now meet the Schreiber Fastball Champs in a best two of three series for the Bootery Trophy, emblematic of the Inter-town Championship. Games will be play ed Tuesday and Wednesday in Terrace Bay and Thursday in Schrei ber, if necessary. LET'S HAVE A GOOD TURNOUT OF FANS !! FISH AND GAME MEETING THURSDAY There will be a general meeting of the Terrace Bay Fish and Game Association at 7:00 p.m., Thursday YOUTH ALLOWANCES IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR PARENTS At the end of September the first payments will be made under the Youth Allowances Act recently passed by Parliament. If you have a child who is 16 or 17 years of age, is maintained by you, and is either in full-time attendance at school or university, or is un- able to attend by reason of physical or mental infirmity, you may be eligible for a monthly allowance of $10. THIS ALLOWANCE MUST BE APPLIED FOR --/T WILL NOT BE SENT AUTOMATICALLY _] During August application forms were sent to the | parents of children already 16 or 17, or who would be 16 before September. If you have a child who meets the above requirements, and for any reason an application has not reached you, you can obtain one by writing to the Regional Director of Family Allow- ances in your provincial capital.
