He was informed the line there was property of the Public School and any agreement must be made with that Board, also that permission should be secured from the CPR since the line already in- stalled was drained through their sewage system. GIRLS HOCKEY TEAM BEATS GERALDTON A large and enthusiastic crowd attended the hockey match between picked girls' teams of Geraldton and Schreib er--the visitors losing. Playing for Geraldton were G.Westover (goal), M. Demetrak, N.Slikus, J.Still, A.Darline, C-L. O'Brien, Nancy White, V.Wright, F.Strey, Janice Prien, C.Styles and C.Westover with H.Chambers and W.Anton as coaches. On the Schreiber lineup were Laura Morris (goal), G.Duggan, C.Ross, J.Clemens, M.Nesbitt, B-A. Cocks, B.Comeau, D=L and W.Weaver, A.Fummer-= ton, L.Bedard, J.St.Jean, Sandra Clemens with Bill Woddrow and Freddy McColeman as coaches. At the morning service in St.Andrew's United Church, Rev .Fraser Muldrew received fifteen into membership with Neil Ross wélcaming each one on behalf of the congregation. During the service Mr.Muldrew described the com- passionate fund which is being or ganized by the congregation and to which all friends of the Rev. R. Crook, former minister of St.Andrew's are invited to donate. His many friends in Schreiber are shocked and grieved by the news of Mr.Crook's illness. Mr.and Mrs. Bill Miller will go to Brandon during the. Easter holiday to personally present the cheque to Mr.and Mrs.Crook. Jim McCuaig, whose marriage to Merla Dooley takes place on March 28th was honoured at a stag party held by the Kinsmen in Bill Weaver's home on Ann Street. Attending were G.Riley, R.Bailey, J. Godin, R.Hewson, P.Speziale, B.Harper, N. McCuaig, R. Guillet, A.Gordon, Bob Turner, Bill Miller and Pete B.Speziale, On the club's behalf Bill presented a satin comforter. Mr.& Mrs.J.Rattray are visiting their daughters and families in the Soo and Elliott Lake. Mrs.N.J.Jolicoeur, daughters Lynn and Debra and Helen Harness attended the Ice Show in Ft.William. Miss Cathy O'Brien of Flo's Beauty Shop is in Toron to attending the hairdresser's convention, after which she will visit her aunt in London and sister in Sudbury Mr.& Mrs. Mark Doig of Chapleau spent the week end with Mr.& Mrs. Norman McCuaig, visiting the Peter Doig family also. A group of 22 friends surprised Daryl Lynn Weaver in her home on St. Patrick's Day--her 16th birthday . Aware of the plans, Mrs.Hubert Weaver, made two birthday cakes for her granddaughter and Daryl Lynn's mother, Mrs. Bill Weaver, was assisted in ser- ving lunch by Brenda Lidkea. A rose-pink banlon sweater was presented to Daryl-Lynn. NOVEL HATS DISPLAYED AT W.1. Luscious is the word for the bonnets worn by mem= bers of the Women's Institute at their March meeting to answer roll call. The handmade creations were formed of lettuce and cabbage leaves, celery stalks, decked with radishes and olives and wreathed in par- sley and carrot tops--one was even graced with a hen ensconsed on a half=grapefruit nest. The judges could not make a choice so names were drawn and Mrs.Alvin Slater got the prize. Mrs.N.Smith presided for the meeting with Mrs. A.W.Slater reading the minutes for Mrs.W.J.Throwe and Mrs.F.V.Harness giving the treasurer's report. A donation was made to the Mental Health Assoc . and a report on citizenship and education was read by Mrs.Slater. Mrs.Smith gave a paper on current events and Mrs.W.Miller reported cards sent on various occasions. Members were advised dues will be paid at the April meeting and all reports of standing committees should be presented. Following the meeting bingo was played and lunch served by Mesdames Smith, R.Macadam and R.Win= ters. Miss Edna McColeman of the Soo is visiting her mother who has been in Terrace Bay Hospital . Mr .and Mrs .H.Costall visited recently on Southern Ontario. Mr .A.Tennant of Ft.William visited recently with Mr.& Mrs.H.Martinsen. Leo Tookenay had his daughter, Mrs.H.Harless and son of Ledgerwood, N.D., and his son Vincent who is attending University in Minneapolis, home for a visit. Mrs.J.E.Powers has her niece, Mrs.Bob Smith and daughter Kelly, of Toronto, visiting her "MESSENGER'S CONCERT e hall was crowded for the Easter concert of the Messengers of St.Andrew's United Church on March 18 when colored streamers and spring flowers decora~ ted the stage. Rev.D.F.Muldrew was MC with leaders Mrs.G.Gordon, Mrs.D.Hencher and Mrs.R. G.Macadam, assisted by Mrs.W. Miller as pianist. Mrs.H.McCanna and Mrs.K .Williamson assisted and during intermission Nola Fummerton and Linda Nesbitt sold homemade candy .
