Jane Cole- borne placed second in one class and received a fifth for two others. In their duet Jane and Linda were given a third. Ronnie Matuszak placed first one one class, second, in two competitions and a third in yet another class. SUPERIORS WIN (Continued from Page |!) in Marathon by a close 6 to 5 verdict. This is the first time that the championship has been won by a visiting team on Marathon ice and the local boys were full value for the win. Both teams were badly short-handed through in- juries and sickness, and Terrace Bay especially felt the loss of Dave Desrosiers and Dave Whalen. Determined efforts by the balance of the club pulled the SUPES through but not before Marathon made a , last ditch effort to even the score. With only a few minutes remaining and leading 6 - 3, Terrace Bay looked to be sure winners. However, Marathon counted two quick goals to make the score 6 - 5, and when Bob Adamo was penalized for icing the puck, matters reached a climax. Top goal tending by Brian Webb kept Marathon off the score sheet and the SUPES were home winners. effort, and was especially proud that the champion- ship had been won right on Marathon ice. In the event that the first two games are split, a third game will also be played in Terrace Bay on Friday, March 20th. This series then moves to Dryden or Warroad for comple- tion. Despite a rash of injuries and setbacks, the SUPES have been able to win the North Shore Championship for the third time.
