P.T.A. MEETING Cane Father Cano spoke on the importance of educating the child in its own home by the parents. Too much is expected, frequently, from the school teacher within whose care the child remains only a few hours of the day. This education has three major facets-- soul, mind and body. For the soul, all aspects of religious training must take place by example and precept; for the mind, teaching and showing the way to thought and good judgment and for the body, the daily care and training which results in sound good health. JOYCE FADDEN WEDS TERRY BRITTON The wedding of Joyce Helena Fadden, daughter of Mrs. Fadden and the late Karl Fadden of Schreiber and Terry Arthur Britton of Port Arthur, was solemn- ized by the Rev.Peden in Trinity United Church on February 15th. The service, held at 7.30 in the evening, was attended only by immediate members of the bride and groom's families. The bride wore a blue Italian knit suit, a tulle hat centered with a flower and a corsage of pink roses. The bride's sister, Mrs. Joseph Spavor, was her atten dant, wearing an aqua suit, tulle hat and pink rose corsage. Ken Britton, brother of the groom, was the best man. Following the ceremony the party drove to Mr.and Mrs. Spavor's home in Fort William for the wedding party. Those attending the wedding included the bride's mother, Mr.and Mrs. Bill Fadden (brother and sister= in-law), Mr.and Mrs. N .Bottomley (sister and bro- ther-in-law) of Schreiber; Miss Pearl Fadden and Miss Grace Fadden and the groom's parents, of Port Arthur. MRS. B.MILLER HEADS LADY TRAINMEN The Lady Trainmen, M.K.Firth Lodge, held their regular meeting in Mrs. Hazel Bailey's home. Plans were made to welcome Mrs.Shad Ferguson of Winni- peg, deputy vice-president, district #10, who will inspect Schreiber Lodge in April. The books will be | audited by Mrs. Ferguson and she will give instruc- tion classes in the work. Mrs. Betha Miller was named president and Mrs. Louise Corbett vice-president, with Mrs .Bailey appointed Legislative representative . Peter Halonen, supt.of development and training, Postal Department, Ottawa, spent the weekend with his father and other relations here--the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Holmes. Mr.Halonen is another native son of whom Schreiber is very proud. He was enroute home from a business trip to Vancouver. Mr .and Mrs. A.W.Cuthbertson of Pt.Arthur spent the weekend with Mr.and Mrs. Roly Gander. Mr .Nelson Kelly of Toronto visited Mr.and Mrs. Bruce Simon last week. Mrs. J.B.Ridsdale has returned from a week's visit with Mr.& Mrs. Ron Ridsdale and family in Ruther- glen. Mrs .Jack Winters spent the weekend with her mother, Mrs. A.Wood, in Port Arthur . Wally Simon and Alex Lamb are in Terrace Bay Hospital . Safety lights have been installed on all the town trucks. Mrs. Michael Morgan, nee Audrey McCuaig, was honored at a shower-tea in the United Church on February 19. Wearing a blue wool sheath, white hat and corsage of white mums, the bride received with her mother, who chose a brown-toned silk sheath matching hat ad corsage of gold mums for her en- semble. Miss Brenda Lidkea was dining room hostess and tea was poured by Mrs. N.McCuaig and Mrs. L.R. McCuaig, Mrs. Reginald Inshaw and Mrs. Jack Bryson. The servitors were Mrs .Bruce Morgan and the Misses Marilyn Pearson (Nipigon), Doris McPar- land, Merla Dooley, Bea McBride, Dianne Peterson, Lorraine Nesbitt and Cheryl Everitt. The gift table was attended by Miss Bonnie Gordon and Miss Myrna McCuaig and the guestbook by Debby Lidkea. Lori Drake marked her fifth birthday on Feb.15th with a party for twelve girls and boys. Mrs .Drake was assisted by Mrs.Bob Jones and Mrs.Mike Smilski in arranging the games, serving supper and distribut- ing the take-home favors.
