LADIES CURLING CLUB NEWS (by B.Bouchard) Over the past weekend several of our local ladies fared well in out-of-town Bonspiels. Two local teams travelled to Wawa and H.Lafontaine's rink walked off with first prize in the first event, defeat ing a Coppercliff rink in the final game. Curling with Heather were Mary Hale 3rd, P.Kelty 2nd and V .Hanna, lead. At the Schreiber ladies bonspiel Kay Thorsteinson' two trophies played for this season, having won th e Seagram trophy in the first round. Nice going ladies The third round for the Laskin trophy commences this week. PEE WEE HOCKEY - HOUSE LEAGUE The Pee Wee House League Hockey Semi-Finals got underway last Saturday morning. The en- thusiasm and determination of these youngsters is something to see and feel. Why not make it a point to see these future stars of to-morrow. Semi-finals and finals will continue each Saturday morning beginning at 10.00 A.M. The first games of the Semi-finals were close and exciting contests which saw the Canadians win over the Bruins by a score of 3 to 2, with a sudden death overtime goal by Paul Evans-Smith, his second of the game. Paul Papousek got the other Canadian tally while Mike Slattery and Theriault scored for the Bruins. In the other game the Maple Leafs edged the Black Hawks 4 to 3. Simmer led the scoring for the Leafs with 2 goals, Fisher and rink of S.Gusul, E.Zwir and Carol Lindquist captured Papineau got the other two.
