On the recommendation of Councillor Fraser, four lengths of hose will be ordered for the Fire Department this year, with a recommendation that four more be purch ased next year. He informed Council that all hose will be pressure-tested as soon as the weather permits . Cost of removing snow around fire hydrants has be~ come excessive, Reeve Heenan pointed out, and suggested a hand snowblower for this and other municipal work such as the Recreation Centre .The suggestion was turned over to Councillor Brown, Public Works Chairman, to investigate. A special meeting of Council was scheduled for February 4th to again consider wages. More Township Crests will be ordered as stock of these and pins is depleted. The Secretary was instructed to write the Town Solicitor to enquire if a plebiscite would be required for fluoridation. Councillor Cavanaugh expressed interest in the Centennial project, feeling something permanent should be accomplished for the town out of it. He made suggestions on a proposed walk and lookout over the town and Lake Superior on the rocks behind the Recreation Centre and proposed that the towns- people be invited to submit suggestions.
