KIWANIS CLUB OFFICERS INSTALLED Installation of incoming officers of the Terrace Bay Kiwanis Club Incor- porated was conducted Tuesday evening in Hotel Terrace by the Lieutenant Governor of Division One, Mr. Waldo Cummings from Ati- kokan. 'Officers inducted were:-President - Herman Roberts, Vice-Pres. Bob Hales, Secretary Treasurer - Ken MacLeod (of the Public School staff); Directors - A.Hartman, H.Solly, Rev.T.Garnett Husser, N.Corn- thwaite, G.Pearen, J.Graham and J.Commisso. The dinner meeting proved a particularly auspicious occasion when the local Club also had as their guests, the Governor designate of all Western Canada Division, Mr.Roy Gunn of Port Arthur, and Miss Sallie Grant of the Crippled Children's Society. If the showing which a local High School team made against the men in the local N'Western play-off is any indication of the calibre of play, then we are in for a real treat. Drop in and watch your students at play. The Men's Club Bonspiel, February 12th, 13th and 14th, will de- finitely be a three event competition. The entry fee is $1.00 per team member. This guarantees you three games and a social on Friday evening. All club members will be contacted personally. Skips will be notified of the draw time schedule early next week. MINOR HOCKEY NEWS On Saturday, the Red Rock PeeWees and Bantams visited Terrace Bay. The Midget game. was cancelled due to the fact that Red Rock could not ice a team. On Sunday our Bantams and Midgets travelled to Nipigon to play postponed games from last week. The first game on Saturday saw the Red Rock PeeWees defeat the locals 5 - 2 with "Toe" Schock scoring both goals in a losing cause. In the second game the Terrace Bay Bantams doubled Red Rock 10 ~ 5. Terry Black led the attack with four goals followed closely by Stuart with three. "Deke" Fedorak had two goals and Joe Papineau picked up a single. In Nipigon on Sunday the Bantams doubled Nipigon 6 ~ 3 while the Midgets won their game walloping Nipigon 12-1. Alvin LeBlanc led the Bantams with three goals while singles went to Sitko, Black and Papineau. Dave Falzetta led the Midgets to victory scoring four goals while team mate Bob Coates scored three goals. Single goals went to Stachiw, Solly, E.Moores, Turner and M. Moore. Saturday, February 15th will be MINOR HOCKEY DAY in Terrace Bay. Please keep this day open and come out and watch the kids right from Flyweights to the Midgets. lH is expected we will have some Minor hockey playoffs on that day also.
