Outdoor dusk-to-dawn lighting for private property and road allowances is now available on a rental basis to customers of Ontario Hydro. This rental plan offers customers 175-watt mercury vapor lighting units with photo-electric controls at low monthly rates. The units, which are automati- cally switched on at dusk and off at dawn, are par- ticularly suitable for lighting farm yards, private lanes, storage areas and parking lots. A net rental charge of $3.75 a month includes the cost of lamp replacement. If customers require a pole for use with the lighting unit, an additional charge of 50 cents per month will also be made. It is expected that during the first full year of ope- ration of the dusk-to-dawn rental lighting plan, over 2,000 units will be installed. Hydro's dusk-to-dawn lighting program will be af- filiated with a similar lighting plan to be launched soon on a national basis by the Canadian Electrical Association. The Recreation Committee also advised Council of Food Services Management's decision to with draw from the Centre and that they had decided to leave the matter in the hands of Council but recommended that Kimberly-Clark Company be asked to take over the concession. The Road Supt., H. Hall sent in his resignation, another party was recommended for the position and this will be confirmed at the next meeting.
