TOWN ToREs CENOTAPH CEREMONY Rain fell softly on the heads bowed in homage before the Cenotaph Sunday afternoon, as Terrace Bay turned out to pay their re- spects to those lost in the two Wars. Piper W. McMicking, in full regalia, led the Sea Cadet Corps, Royal Canadian Legion and Auxiliary members and Veterans as they paraded to the foot of the Cenotaph, there to be joined by the Terrace Bay Band under the direction of B. Lohr. The Honor Guard, taken from the recently organized Sea Cadet Corps, was comprised of P2 K. Wood, P2 F. MacLeod, L/CW. Pearen and L/CL. MacKay. Very Rev. Dean E.A. Gallagher led in prayer for the Armistice Service and the Band accompanied the singing of "Abide with Me*®, Bugler W. Colborne sounded the Last Post and the Piper played the Highland Lament before Revielle sounded. Slow martial music on the bagpipes accom panied the laying of the many wreaths about the Cenotaph by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 223 and Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 223, Provincial Government, Township of Terrace Bay, Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Co. Ltd., Catholic Women's League, Loyal Order of Moose, Kiwanis Club, Girl Guide Association, Local 86, International Brotherhood Electrical Workers Union, Terrace Bay Navy League, Werceinski with D. Commanding Officer J. Cumming, Sub. Ltd. D. Brearley and Sub. Ltd. A. McKechnie were in charge of the Sea Cadet Corps. EASTERN STAR OFFICERS INSTALLED The regular meeting of Silver Birch Chap- ter No. 264 Order Of Eastern Star was held on November 12th in the Community Church Hall. Worthy Matron F. Bryson and Wofthy Patron A. Farrow presided over the very well attended meeting. Regular business was transacted and the Annual reports of all Committees were read and approved. Highlight of the evening was the Installa- tion Ceremony of the Offiicers for the fol- lowing year, Installing Marshal was Miss Barbara Haughn and Presiding Matron Mrs. Lil Harris, both Past Matrons of Silver Birch Chapter. The Officers installed were: Worthy Matron Mrs. Althea Fraser, Worthy Patron Mr. Alex Sinkins P.P., Associate Matror Mrs. W.
