An interesting extra was the showing of men's styles as worn by Gor- don Calder and Don LaPorte. All models were under the direction of Virginia Galvin. Synthetics played such an important part in the light, but warmer wear, So easy to care for as in the luxurious Simotta fur fabric coats, softer laminates, but still a wide showing of wool cloth and fur trims. The present trend remaining with the sheaths and shifts from the sub-teens to ladies fashions, they travelled on through the business suit, dressy suits, double knit dresses and suits; fun clothes in culottes, sporty fringed jackets, suedine jumpers, skirts and toppers and glamour in evening frocks. Such a wide variety of outdoor clothes were shown in heavier sweaters, car coats and ski jackets, all worn with the popular stretch slacks. It was nice to note large hats and purses are still a must, and contrasting or emphasizing jewellery from Walkers accompanied the dressy items. The gentlemen displayed coats and ski jackets for the coming winter, easy-care slacks, and smart cardigans. The tiny tots strutted about in a young version of their grown-up idols, even to cozy sleepwear. Miss Irving kept her audience informed of the swirling and sleek hairstyling created for each model by Tony, as well as the make- up coloring adapted for each girl by Stella Brown. Concluding the showing, Senior Regent Jackie Calder, thanked her large audience as well as the many persons involved in the en- tertainment. Assisted by the two children (Cont'd Pg 4
