October | 3, 1963 FAY WASELOVICH WEDS ERNEST KRAUSE SOFTBALL LEAGUE HOLDS ANNUAL DINNER Pastel hued gladioli adorned St. John's Anglican Church on September 28th, for the wedding of Fay Frances Waselovich of Fort Frances, and Ernest Milton Krause of Schrieber . Rev. R.J.S. Inshaw officiated, with Mrs. Inshaw as the organist. During the seryice Mrs. Clarence Wright sang "O Perfect Love and The Lord's Prayer". The usher was Neil Verdoni and Jim Duggan cousin of the groom was the best man. The bride, given in marriage by her father, chose a chiffon gown, taffeta lined. The fitted bodice, had a scoop neckline, outlined with lace and lily point sleeves. The lace edged skirt had a deep pleat edged with lace, in the front and the dropped back- waistline was caught up in a simylated bustle held by anarrow bow, and extended in a circular train. A high round pearl crown held her triple veil of silk illusion and she carried a semi cascade of American Beauty roses. The bride's attendants were:- Miss Susanne Paske, maid af hanor ; Miss Betty Lynne Paske and Miss Sandra Finney bridesmaids, Arlene Krause, fitower girl and Bobby Waselovich, ring bearer. The bridesmaids and flower girl all wore lemon yellow frocks, the senior attendants of crystalline with bouffant skirt, scoop necklines and short sleeves edged with scallops. Their head circlets | matched their gowns and they carried white shasta mums with yellow centres. The flower girl's frock wassilk organza, scalloped overskirt and carried a nosegay of white mums. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Krause, parents of the groom, when Mrs. Krause receiised in a geranium pink peau de soie sheath which featured a flaring _ peplum caught in the back with narrow bow. Trapuntd work edged the scooped neckline and her slippers were dyed to match her gown. Her hat and gloves were of paler pink and her couage of white mums. The bride's mother, who assisted in receiving, shose a sheath with matching jacket in silver satin embossed with green pattern, her hat of white maribou and accessories in pale green. Her corsage was also white mums. The tea was poured by Mrs. R.Winters and Mrs. J. Corbett, grandmother and aunt of the groom, Mrs. A.McKechnie of Terrace Bay and Mrs .O .Paske of Port Arthur. Mrs.Con Duggan was dining room hos- tess and servitors were Mesdames D.Beno, J.Winters, G.Riley and Mrs.D.Winters, with Milton Winters in charge of the punch bowl. Mrs.R.Krause and Miss Heather Graham attended the gift room and Shirley Ann Winters circulated the guest book .(Continued) The Women's Softball League held their Annual Award Dinner in the Guild Hall with Neil Ross as M.C. and the president, Lorraine Nesbitt giving an address. Mr. Ross gave the toast to the Queen and Jim McCuaig said Grace. Awards were presented as follows: Most home runs, to Crystal Kusik and runner-up Lorraine Bedard, by Audrey McCuaig. Most improved player to Irene Bolan and runner-up Lorraine Bedard, by Chris. Morris Most sportsmanlike pl ayer, to Betty Huard by Carolyn Power. Most valuable player to Audrey McCuaig by Helen Dooley. Rooky of the year, a double award to Muriel Nesbitt and Audrey McCuaig by Ethel Nesbitt. The four star trophy became a five star award presented to Crystal Kusik, Betty Huard, Irene Bolan, Muriel Nesbitt and Audrey McCuaig by Lorraine Nesbitt. The Pat McCouan trophy was presented by Mr. McCouan to Capt. Helen Dooley for the Honey Bees and players Crystal Kusik, Chris Moore, Betty Huard, Elsie Ross, Irene Bolan, Anna Fummerton, Janet Clemens, Helen Nesbitt and Judy St. Jean. A gift was presented to Lorne O'Neil, Chief Umpire with his assistant Neil Ross, also receiving a round of applause, Tribute was paid to the constant interest of Jim McCuaig and Edgar Ray who coached the teams and for Jim's role as lone supporter and fan when the All- Star team travelled to the Lakehead. This event was one of the highlights of the season because of the warm welcome and courtesy extended by their hosts in Fort William, expressed by Helen Dooley. The other captains; Lorraine Fadden, Ethel and Helen Nesbitt each spoke briefly. There were 64 attending the dinner, with Pat McCouan coming from Marathon to attend. A cabaret was held the following evening with friends invited. MRS. COMERFORD DIES IN PEMBROKE The funeral of the late Mrs. Catherine Comerford, whose death occurred in her 80th year in Pembroke, was held from the O"Reilly Fumeral Home, £ ganville to St. Frances de Sales Church in Raglan, on September 19th. Rev. M.J. Hass, P.P. celebrated the Solemn High Mass, assisted by Rev. L. Casertelli as Deacon and Rev. J. Brown, as sub- Deacon. Also present in the Sanctuary were Rev. M. Shroeder of Killaloe, J.K.
