Mrs. Gladys Madigan has her mother from Chapleau visiting her and last week had Mrs. C.D. Dion also of Chapleau as her guest. Mr. & Mrs. E. D. McPhail of Carberry and Mr. & Mrs. B. Harris of Gull Lake, visited with Mr. & Mrs, F, Macadam enroute home after a Maritime tour. Mr. Innes West is in McKellar Hospital thi week. Mrs. Richard Spicer returned from Terrace Bay Hospital on Tuesday. Mr. & Mrs. C. Boon have returned from a holiday spent in Cochrane with Mr. & Mrs. Jim Boon, in Folyet with Mr. & Mrs. J. Gauthier and in Powassin with other relations. Mr. & Mrs. W. Alcorn have had with them, Mr. & Mrs. Douglas Airth of Edmonton and Mr. & Mrs. Jack Ison of Peterborough. Mr. & Mrs. Edson Morrill and family of Toronto are the guests of E.J. Morrill, also visiting others in the Morrill family. Mr. & Mrs. George Birch, Mr. & Mrs. Godfre Birch and Mrs. Ted Wilson of Schreiber, with Mr. & Mrs. J. Cosgrove of Marathon drove to- gether to attend the Birch family re-union in the home of Mr. & Mrs. R. Birch in Mark- ham -- the first get-together in 15 years. They attended service in Grace Anglican Churc and later in the week, were entertained by Mr. & Mrs. Breffitt at Sturgeon Lake. Others attending the party were Mr. w& Mrs. L. Birch, Barrie; Mr. & Mrs. wW. Breffitt, Agincourt and nieces and nephews from Barrie, Toronto, Brampton, Angus, Markham and Montreal. Freebury, who received his Degree from the University of Wales, has come to Schreiber to be Dr. Cornell's assis- tant. Dr. Freebury, who was born in Newport, Wales, has served three years in the Royal Navy in Malta. Mrs. Freebury, Jacqueline age 5 and David 2, are with the Doctor and they will make their home in Dr. Cornell's former residence on Manitoba Street. The officers of the C.P.R. Credit Union and guests held their annual dinner on September 26th at Filanets Restaurant, Alvin Slater was chairman for the event with President Bill Collinson welcoming the guests. Others speaking briefly were W.G, Furlonger and F.V. Harness. Mrs. H. Spikula thanked the committee for the dinner and social evening. Mrs. 0. meeting of Wright was N.G. for the regular Ruby Rebekah Lodge, in the absence of Mrs. J. Plummer with Mrs. W. Clemens taking the Vice Grand Chair. Mrs. M. Mac--- Donald, president of the Rebekah Assembly of Ontario, was introduced by Mrs. F. Whent P.N.G. and Mrs. D. Gibb, D.D.P., by Mrs. M. Slater, P.D.D.P. Mrs. I. Morris, Assembly pianist, was introduced by Mrs. N. Funmerton, P.N.G. Fred MacDonald was also welcomed as a visitor. Mrs. H. McBride sang "Our Best To You" accompanied by Mrs. A. Bryson. Routine business was carried out and Mrs. Gibb an- nounced the installation of Ruby Rebekah Officers would take place on October 23rd. Donations to the birthday box were made by members. Following the meeting, a social hour was enjoyed, convened by Mrs. A. Farrow, when the 38th birthday cake, made and donated by Mrs. J. Macadam, P.N.G., was cut by the Assembly President.
