Fraser Muldrew, B.A. took place in St. Andrew's United Church on Friday, August |6. Clergy here for the occasion included Rev. T. Garnett Husser, Terrace Bay; Rev. F.W. McNally, Marathon; Rev. John Grey, Westminster; Rev. Jurrien Camman, Kakabeka; Rev. D.R. Ross, Pine Valley Heights; Rev. $.G. Jardine, Broadway United and Rev. W. J. Hickerson, of the Presbytery of Superior, who was acting chairman. Rev. T. Garnett Husser assisted . Members of the Community Church, Terrace Bay, also attended and the induction service was followed by a social hour in the Church Hall. Mrs. Hickerson accompanied her husband . Under the auspices of the C.W.L., a monster Labor Day celebration will be held September 2nd at the Ball Field. A full round of activities, similar to those staged last year, has been planned with games, races, country store, refreshments, amateur hour and re- freshment booths. This year the Amateur Hour will be divided into two groups - Junior and Senior - and prizes will be given the winners of each group. Those planning to enter are urged to hand in their names to Mrs. G. McParland by August 31st. Plan now to attend this big event. HIGH SCHOOL TO OPEN AUGUST 31st The new, modern Schreiber High School will be officially opened on Friday, August 31st to public view. The High School board have issued an invitation to the public to attend the opening exercises at 7.30 P.M. that day. OPEN SEASON FOR BLACK BEARS ANNOUNCED The Hon. A.K. Roberts, Minister of Lands and Forests, has announced the 1963-64 open season for the hunting of black bears in Ontario. Ex- tending from September 1, 1963 to June 30, 1964 the new season is similar in every way to those of the previous two years. Mr. Roberts pointed out that although non-resi- dent hunters show a good deal of interest in hunting black bears in Ontario, particularly during the early spring period, black bears are receiving re- latively little special attention from resident hunters. Residents take numbers of black bear each fall, incidental to the hunting of deer and moose, but few avail themselves of the recreational op- BEV MCCAULEY TO INSTRUCT HOCKEY INSTITUTE Two more instructors have been added to the staff for the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association's leadership institute in Saskatoon from August 19 to 28 .
