The three day event this year, gave many the opportunity of coming some distance to fish at leisure and enter their catch to compete for the tremendous prize list. An overcast sky and intermittent rain both Friday and Saturday failed to deter the ardent angler with many of the prize fish registered in these evenings at the daily weigh-in. Sunday more than made up for the first two days with a clear sky and the sun beaming down its blessing. As the final whistle blew Sunday evening, Chair- man Bob Hales looked over a crowd which more than tripled that of previous years, and, assisted by Kiwanis Club members, the presentations began. First Division was Speckled Trout and for a very nice 7 lb. 2.0z. entry, Mr. Howard Manitobenis of Nipi- gon received Ist prize of a flight for 2 within any 25 mile radius of Superior Airways Base, Rossport, courtesy Superior Airways, plus $25.00 from Kim- berly Clark Pulp & Paper Co. Ltd. Second prize in this division went to Thomas Butterfly of Marathon for his entry weighing 3 Ib. 15 oz. and 3rd place was won by Mrs. Rita Ray of Chippewa Falls, Wisc. for her 3 lb. 10 oz. speckled. Fourth place was won by another Jady, Mrs. Devona Beauregard of Ft. William who entered an even 3 |b. speckled. Mr H. Sftyle of Nipigon came in 5th with his 2 lb. 15 oz entry. Master Kenny Hanley received the 6th prize. The Pickerel Division found another nice size fish in first place. Mr. C. NORTH SHORE SWIM MEET HERE SATURDAY The Annual North Shore Swim Meet, which brings together the best swimmers from Red Rock, Marathon and Terrace Bay, will be held at the Terrace Bay Swimming Pool this Saturday afternoon. STARTING TIME IS 2 P.M. SHARP. Winners from the local meet, held here last Sun- ed on a 3-2-1 basis for first, second and third places in each event, the winning team to receive the North Shore Championship Trophy. MINOR BASEBALL Of the three minor games scheduled for Saturday, only one was played as the Marathon Peewees and Bantams failed to show up as scheduled. However, the game between the Marathon and Terrace Bay Little Leaguers was played, with the locals losing a tight 3-0 contest. Both teams showed steady pitching as Blanch of Marathon threw a 1 hitter and Tom Schock of Terrace Bay threw a 3 hitter. A costly fielding miscue and bad base running cost the
