EINO PELTO BURIED _IN SCHREIBER The funeral of the late Eino Pelto, age 39, whose death occurred suddenly in a Lakehead hospital on June 25, was conducted in St. Andrew's United Church on June 27 by Rev. R. A. Crook. Jack Gordon was organist and the hymns chosen were Abide With Me and Nearer My God To Thee. Pall bearers were Jack and Wally Richardson, D. May, G. Willoughby, L. Cote, and E. McCouan, Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Attending the service from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Korpelan, Sudbury, Uno Pelto, Fort William, Mrs. G, Lehto and Miss Doris Lehto, Terrace Bay. _ Miss Lois LeBlanc spent the weekend in Chapleau with Mr. and Mrs. P. Chrursoski. Mrs. J. Smitheman has left for a trip to Europe. She will be joined by her sister- in-law, Mrs. Cora Cameron of Espanola. Mrs. Mima Pomer of Winnipeg, is visiting her brothers George and Alec Gordon and their families. Miss Bonnie Guina of Fort William spent the holiday weekend with Mrs. D. McGuire. Mr, and Mrs, Howard Showers(nee Chuck Fummerton) are visiting their relatives here. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Olson of Sudbury are the guests of Mrs. Joseph Cebrario. Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Harris leave early in July for a long holiday in their native Ireland, Mr. and Mrs. S. Kusik will spend their vacation camping at St. Joseph's Island. Mr. and Mrs. C. Wright, Mandy and Cathie, are also going to spend a gypsy vacation camping "where the spirit listeth". Mr, and Mrs. Hugh Stewart will hold an open reception in their home on July 6 from 3 to 5 in honor of their daughter Sally whose marriage to Raymond Cote takes place that day in Holy Angels Church. Mrs. T. Whitton is in McKellar Hospital. Mrs. Keith Caldwell and Kathy of Aylmer are the guests of the Hugh Stewart's, Mr. and Mrs. G. Noble of Sudbury visited July 4, 1963 | with members of the Walter Paradis family while guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wilson. Mrs. Mae Souliere of Sudbury visited her son Don and his family last week. Bruce Gordon has gone to Vernon, B.C. where he will instruct cadets. Cadet Capt. Jack Gordon leaves shortly for two week's course in London, Ont. after which he will go to Banff cadet camp, Other cadets leaving for a 7 weeks course at Ipperwash are Richard Chicoine, Jody David, Brian Duncan, Boyd Drake, Ian Macadam, Paddy Duggan, Danny MacDonald, Jack McGrath, John McParland, Russell Nesbitt and Ray Small. Mrs, Douglas May was hostess for a kitchen shower honoring bride-elect Miss Sally Stewart. Sixteen friends gathered to present many practical and pretty cooking necessities. Bingo and contests provided amusement. The small prizes (kitchen articles) were also presented to Sally. : Mrs. Gary Drake invited 16 little girls to celebrate her daughter Lynne's 7th birthday, having a weiner roast and cake with all the trimmings. Mrs. N. Commisso and son Mico of Toronto, are the guests of Mrs. D, Costa, also visiting others in the family. Mr, and Mrs. Garry Drake and family leave on the first for a two week camping vacation. J. George Scott was called to Winnipeg by the critical illness of his mother-in-law - Mrs, Scott already having gone to be with her mother. Mrs. F. Holland of Fort William has re- turned home after a holiday with Mr. and Mrs. P, Leisander. Lorne Caldwell, who has been at school in Toronto the past year, will spend the summer working here. Mr. and Mrs, R. G. Macadam will hold a re- ception in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Forbes Macadam on June 7th from 8 - 10 PM. in honor of Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Dejeet (nee Sharon Macadam) whose marriage took place in St. Pauls? Chapel, Port Arthur on June 29th. HOLY ANGELS FIELD DAY Holy Angels Separate school held their annual field day on June 26, events run off by H, Carmichael, Mrs. D. McGuire, Mrs. Connie Gauthier and Mrs. W. Cocks with Mrs. L. Godin, Mrs. G. Walsh and Mrs, J. Anderson in charge of treats and refreshments.
