Mr, Farwell heartily congratulated this fine large class of girls who, through their desire to become better baby sitters, had undertaken this course in Child Care, and also mentioned though he had several classes in session in the Lakehead and district in First Aid and Home Nursing among girls, this was the first Child Care course for the district, He then took pleasure in present- ing the Girl Guides with their certificates. ~ A very interesting and impressive interlude was provided between presentations when members of the Schreiber Nursing Division of the St, Johns Ambulance gave a demonstration on the treatment of a home accident victim until a doctor arrived, Commentator was Mrs. Dorothy Rummery, Divisional Officer, ; with Instructor Mrs, Helen Jartus, the former | Divisional Superintendent, Victim was Mrs, S. Willoughby, nursing member and other members of the team were Nursing members Mrs. H, ' Ralph and Mrs. M, Johnson. Mr, John Ferrier, before presenting the members of the C,G,1I.T, with their certif- icates complimented both groups of girls on their splendid appearance in their smart uniforms, He also complimented the girls on their initiative in taking this course and seeing it through to completion, noting it would be invaluable to them for the rest of their lives, Chairman of the Schreiber-Terrace Bay Branch, Mr, Lester Crandlemire thanked both Mr. Farwell and Mr, Ferrier for their part- icipation in the evening and added his congratulations to the girls, He further offered his appreciation to Mrs. V. Rapke and | Mrs, M. Hale, members of the Terrace Bay Branch of the North Shore Registered Nurses | Association who had instructed the girls in their course, (Continued on Page 9) __
