HOLD WHIST PARTY The Ladies Auxiliary of B, of L.E. held a Whist party at the home of Mrs, Pauline Huminicki Friday evening. An enjoyable evening was spent with prizes going to Mrs. B. Pardis High, Mrs. H. Shack, second and Mrs. H, Jartus,Low. A salad lunch with cake and tea was served by members of the group. | Mesdames F, Richardson, F. Hiller, N.S, Smith, W.F.Weaver H,D.Weaver, F.C, Macadam and O.Niemi attended a joint meet-| at St. Pauls United Church, Port Arthur, last week when speakers from Toronto and Winnipeg were present to discuss the formation of the New United Church Women's Organization in the New Year. ODD FELLOWS AND REBEKAHS TO HOLD JOINT S MEETING The regular meeting of Ruby Rebekah Lodge 279 was held last Wednesday. Mrs. A. Morris N,G, and Mrs. F.Whent V.C. presided and 25 members were present. Mrs, A. Laine gave minutes and correspondence and Mrs, B.Whent read the Treasurer's Report. Results of election of Officers are as follows: Noble Grand - Mrs. F. Whent, Vice-Grand - Mrs. J. Plummer, Recording Secretary - Mrs. B. Macadam, Treasurer - Mrs, B, Whent, Fin, Secretary - Mrs. J. McCanna, The Grand Master of I.0.0.F. of Ontario Bro. R,Chiswell will be in Schreiber Saturday, Oct. 7th to attend a joint meeting of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs at 8 P.M. in the Town Hall, All members are requested to attend. Committee making arrangements with the Odd: Fellows Lodge 402 are Mesdames R, Miller, P, Plummer and R,Macadam., Installation of Elective and appointed officers will be held on Wed, Oct. llth at the regular meeting. This will be preceded by an Installation Supper for all who wish to attend. Mrs. R. Gander is General Convenor. Lorraine Nesbitt of Schreiber, driving a 1960 Envoy Station Wagon, with passengers Ora Mae Harnes Ruth Lemon and Heather Graham were all admitted to Terrace Bay Private Hospital. Miss Nesbitt suffered broken ribs, Miss Graham severe facial lacerations and Miss Harness received a broken right wrist. Miss Harness and Miss Lemon were allowed to return home after observation. Chief Const. Billings is investigating. _
