Father, Mr.Gus Nelson, at his cottage on Walker Lake, Miss Muriel Atcheson has her sister Delaine of Keewatin, Ont., visiting with her till the end of August. Lloyd Jacobson of Hudson visited with his sister and family, Mr.& Mrs,Al. Johnson, last week, Mr.& Mrs. W.Davie & family left on Satur- day to reside in Toronto. Mr.& Mrs.Bob Ingersoll of Prudenville, Michigan. with Mr.@ Mrs, Alfred Ogram of Sagin- aw, Michigan visited this week with members of the D*Arcy family to which they are re- lated. Mrs, G,LeGault and son David of Fort William are visiting her parents, Mr.& Mrs. J.D.Bryson and are also visiting her brother Jack and his family at the Lighthouse on Slate Island. Miss Edna McColeman, R.N., of Marquette, Michigan is visiting her Mother, Mrs. P. McColeman and her brother Archie and his famil Mr.& Mrs. Don McLeod with Sheila 'Ann, Randy and Billy of Sault Ste.Marie are visit- ing Mrs,McLeod parents, Mr.& Mrs, W.J.Rattray. 'nother daughter, Mrs,Ross Greenwood and son Bruce, from Toronto, will join them shortly, Attending the United Church Duncan Memorial Camp last week at Loon Lake were members of the C.G.I.T. of St. Andrews United Church = Muriel Nesbitt, Sandra Clemens, Daryl Lynn Weaver, Janet Clemens, Patsy Dimmery and Edith Clemens. An open reception will be held on Saturday, August 19th from 2 to 4 P.M. at the home of Mr.& Mrs.Edwin Holmes in honour of their daughter Joyce whose marriage to Mr.Michael Reid takes place that day in St,Martin's Church, Terrace Bay, ACE BAY NEWS August 17, 1961: JOHN DIDYCH FETED ON RETIREMENT John Didyck, Section Foreman with the C,.P.R.,; Schreiber Division, retired after 48 years of service with the Company on Thursday, August 10th, He started railroading in this Division in May, 1913, spending some time at Heron Bay but returning to Schreiber in 1937 where he resided wmtil his retirement, He and his fellow workmen were picked up at the Tool Shop by the Engineand Van and were met at the ice house by his family and offi- cials of the C.P.R. A family dinner was held at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr,& Mrs, Harold Fischer. In the evening there was an open reception at his home when he and Mrs,Jidych received neighbors and friends who called to wish him many years of happy retirement, The,Superin- tendent of the Schreiber Division, Mr. V.E. Everitt, presented Mr.Didych with a piece of luggage and Mr.Godfrey Pearson, Road Master from White River presented him with a wallet and gift of money and a purse to Mrs, Didyck on behalf of his fellow workmen, with their best wishes, Besides his daughters, Zonie (Mrs.Harold Fischer) and Florence (Mrs,Gerald Fischer) who reside in Schreiber, another daughter, Anne (Mrs.R.Robbins of Montreal) was also on hand for the happy occasion, tte etree sa canbe atari rahe ntact Satelit =easlasigiaiategiainan eae ace SURPRISE SHOWER FOR MRS, FRANK TUOMI Friends and neighbors arranged a surprise shower for Mrs.Frank Tuomi whose marriage took place in early July, in her home on August 4th, The guest of honour received a corsage made by Mrs. R.Needham and the gifts were presented by Mrs, Myra Smilsky. Those present were:- Mesdames G,.Walsh, F.Maronese, M.Winters, L. Bourke, W.Davie, J,A.Graham, G,Laurel, F.Sulo- nen, R,Needham, J,G.Scott, J,Parent, R,Campbell J,Halonen, .M.Luke, M.Smilsky, D.McLellan, Miss Elma Haapa and Miss Lynne Fisher. An enjoyable evening followed with lunch served by the Hostesses, ee cae ae ee ee ean ee a mr John Souliere celebrated his ninth birthday on August 8th with the following friends and cousins present:- Karen Cornell, Terry Glad, Dale Riley, Toni and Ewen Topolnisky, Cathy Stokes, Greg.McIsaac, Billy Campbell, Jr., Mareen and Laura Campbell, Danny, Susan, Glenda and Darlene Miller and brothers Billy and Michael and sister Michelle. An enjoyable time was spent playing games, running races and having a tea party with the éver special cake. Sharon Gellert assisted Mrs.Souliere.with the party. Also enjoyed was the family reunion of Mr. & Mrs,.Joe Campbell, John's Grandparents, For the first time in,ten years the whole family were together. Included were Mr.& Mrs.Russell Campbell, Mr.& Mrs.William Campbell, Mr.& Mrs. Robert Campbell, Mrs,Ralph Miller (Retty Campbell, Mr.& Mrs.Don Souliere (Helen Campbell Mrs, Henry Prebushewski (Marjorie Campbell) of London, Ontario and Miss Carol-Anne Campbell.
