Farrow was hostess Monday, May 22 to the regular meeting of the Girl Guide Association, Mrs. V, Hanna opened the meeting with the Girl Guide prayer, Minutes of the past meeting were read by the Sec- retary Mrs. L, West and Mrs. Farrow presented the Treasurer's report, Cookie Day Convenor Mrs, S, Dorman report- ed a successful sale and Mrs, M, Hamilton gave her Camp report. The local Guide Camp will be held from June 29 till July 6 at the Boy Scout Camp at White Sand Lake, Mrs, Hamilton has contacted the Department of Lands and Forests for a suitable site for a permanent Girl Guide Camp. Mrs. Y,Boudreau volunteered assistance with the Fly Up on June 24th, Mrs, Mikus requested volunteers to test Brownies on their table setting, and Mrs. Dorman offered assistance, It was felt the Badge Secretary Mrs, P. Woods needed help and any person willing to do even one test for the Brownies are to phone Mrs, Hanna or for the table setting Mrs, Mikus, The girls would be better taking these tests through their Brownie years rather than a heavy schedule of tests just prior to their birth- day deadline, Encouraging letters were received regard- ing the Guide Camp fund with the Catholic Women's. Downey, Girl Guide Captain, thanked the organization for herself and Mrs, Pat Lindberg on their sponsorship to the Polly Lake Training Camp last weekend, This was the most informative camp Mrs, Downey had ever attended and a very well worthwhile weekend which gave them many new ideas for both Guide and Brownie work, Unless an offer is made by an adult to go.to Polly Lake to assist with Brownies, there will be no Brownies sent from Terrace Bay. Camp dates are July 11 to 18. Mrs. Downey also requested one more person to go on staff, preferably a nurse, for the local Guide Camp from June 29 to July 6, Miss Joan Rolland, a qualified swim instructress, has volunteered to give daily lessons at the Camp, Tea towels are urgently needed for the Camp, Anyone having tea towels or flour sacks, phone Mrs. Downey and they will be picked up. The Girl Guide Rally will be held in Manitouwadge this year on September 22 to 24, The financial statement showed a total of $11,20 had been portioned out to the District Commissioner, Divisional Commissioner, the Three Brownie Packs and one Guide Company as their share of the Cookie Day money and Pack Fees for 1960 and 1961. There will be no meeting in June and the September meeting will be held at the home of Mrs, Hamilton, Mrs. Farrow served a lovely luncheon at the close of the meeting, BLACK 5B The meeting of May 11 began at 6,30 P,M, with 19 Scouts and 5 leaders present, The colour party from the Eagle Patrol brought forward the colours. Inspection was carried out and Scout Jim Mikus received his invest- iture, Leaping Wolf badges were handed out to the Scouts qualified to wear them, The Scouts enjoyed a game of indoor base- ball, The troop then broke off for patrol corners, On returning to the horseshoe the colours were paraded.
