Lunch was served by Mrs.A.Bourguignon and her committee,. BRIDAL SHOWER FOR SHERRILL SLY Miss Sherrill Sly was honoured at a bridal shower held on Sunday evening in the home of Mrs. W.Guillet. Mrs, Jerry Thrower and Mrs.,Hugh Stewart werd co-hostesses, Sherrill and her mother, Mrs.R.Gray received the guests at the door and servitors were Mrs.Glen Holmes, Mrs. H.Stewart and Miss Beulah Grover. Kit- chen arrangements were handled by Mrs. J.G.Scott, Mrs.R.Bedard, Mrs.J.Handel and Mrs.Reg.Bailey. Mrs.Thrower attend ed the gift room and guest book. AMBULANCE BRIGADE INSPECTION & BANQUET Last Thursday evening the Schreiber Division of the St.John Ambulance and Nursing Division held their annual Ban quet and Inspection, The Banquet, held in the Schreiber Hotel, was attended by the official inspection party--Brig,. Eric Snow, 0O.B.E., C.D., Deputy Commissioner, and Mrs.W.W.Denison, Supt. of 'Nursing, bot from Provincial Headquarters in Torontgq -- Dr.F.F.P.Thompson, Area Commissione --Mr.Fred Farwell, Area Supt. of Ambu- lance--Miss G.Mitchell, Area Supt. of Nursing - Lakehead Headquarters. Local guests included Reeve W.D*tArcy, Rev. and Mrs, R.J.S.Inshaw, Mr.& Mrs. R, Sheffield, Mr.& Mrs, A.W.Cuthbertson, Mrs.L,R.McCuaig and wives and husbands of members, Grace was said by Rex.. Inshaw and Mr. W.Cringle, Division Superintendent was M,C. The inspection was held in the Town Hall and Jimmy McCuaig, instructor, was in charge of drill formation, A display of first aid and home nursing had all members taking part, Brigadier Snow and Mrs.Denison highly praised the efficiency of drill and demonstrations and the manner in which the records were kept. Following the inspection the Brigadier gave his official address and others of the visiting party spoke briefly. Certificates were presented to the last senior public first aid class and to the junior Ski Patrol. Informal visiting and lunch conclu- ded the evening, A good attendance of the public were on hand to view. the inspection, FUNERAL SEKVICE FOR W WEBB, ELD FRIDAY A Funeral Service for W.Webb who passed awayin Port Arthur Hospital on May 16th was held on Friday in St.Johns Anglican Church with Rev. Inshaw offi- ciating. Miss Lois Inshaw accompanied the singing of "Nearer My God to Thee" and "Abide With Me," Pallbearers were W.Paradis, Robt. Fournier, G.Gauthier and Keith Ross of Schreiber and T,Turner of Terrace Bay and-Joe Harris of Chapleau. Interment was in Schreiber Cemetery. Mr. Webb was predeceased by his wife in June 1960.
