Bay Curlers and invited guests turned out en Masse to attend their Annual Windup Ban- quet and Dance in the Moose Hall, Head Table guests at the Banquet which started at 6:30 P.M, and was catered to by the Women of the Moose were:- Mr.& Mrs. A, Barbini, Mr.& Mrs, J.E.Sprinkle, Mr.& Mrs, W.Jackson and Mr,& Mrs. N,Berrington, all from Fort William and Port Arthur;- Mr.& Mrs, Hal Lawson of Marathon, Mr,.& Mrs, G,Caccamo of Schreiber, Mr.& Mrs. JeA.Ferrier, Mr.& Mrs, R.G.Shirriff, Mr. & Mrs, T,Latour, Mr.& Mrs, D.Evans-Smi th and Mr.& Mrs, A.R,Ostling, Following the Banquet, Club President Rune Ostling spoke on Club activities during the 1960-61 season--introduced and thanked his executive. He also introduced the executive for the coming year. Jim Beddard, the newly elected President, spoke briefly, acknowledging the impetus to the _. proposed new club rooms given by Rune and 'his officers and indicating his intention of continuing a determined drive to reach th objective, Presentation of Trophies saw a rink skipped by Thor Olson receiving the Imperial Bank Trophy from D.Evans-Smith, This Trophy is given yearly to the Club Champion, The runner-up rink, skipped by Lou Duquette, received the Northern Builders Sales Trophy from J.E. "B" Event winner was the Ed Pineault rink who received the Carling Trophy from N.Ber- rington. He also presented the second place award to the J.Beddard rink. Mixed Curling Champions were Thor Olson, Mrs.Dene Clancy, W. Robinson and Mrs, SsGusuld The Long Lac Trophy was presented to them by R.G,Shirriff who also made a presentation to the runner-up rink of Len Crockford, Norma Crockford, G.Riley and Aggie Sinkins, . Consolation prizes, presented by Rune Ostling, went to L.Duquette, Syl.Duquette, Hugh Hamilton and Marg. Hamilton. Runners-up were Ned West, Barbara Haughn, Ken Johnson and Audrey Rowley. The High School Trophy was presented to Doug Moore by J. Wellings and crying: towels went, to the rink with' the lowest.points - J, Gross, Ray Stachiw, Carl Kolody and Rex Taylor. Trophies for play in the Ladies Club started off with Club Champion (the Peggy Wellings Rink) receiving the Canadian Oil Trophy. from W. Jackson. A trophy donated by Laskins Furniture Store went to "A" Group winning rink skipped - by Ann Latour and the Seagram!s. Trophy went to a rink skipped: by Barbara Beughe +5} yasoer in "B". Group. Adamo'ts Orchestra furpashed the music for the enjoyable dance which concluded ipa fes- tivities, _SILVER BIRCH CHAPTER TO HOLD TEA Silver Birch Chapter No,264,: Order of the Eastern Star, held their regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 8th, in the Community Church Hall with Worthy Matron, Mrs, N. Thrower and Worthy Patron, Mr, C,Sitch, pre- siding over routine business and accepting Convenors! reports.
