The meeting adjourned with a prayer, hymn and O Canada. Mr.Ray Kenney showed interesting films of his trip to Montreal in the summer with spec- ial emphasis on St.Joseph's Oratory. A delicious lunch followed, served by Mrs.M. Strom's committee, -- PENNY AUCTION HELD BY SILVER BIRCH CHAPTER The regular meeting of Silver Birch Chapter, No.264, 0.E,S, was held in the Community Church Hall on Monday, January 9th with the Worthy Matrol, Mrs,N.Thrower and the Worthy Patron, Mr,Chas,Sitch, presiding. Convenors reports were received and routine business conducted. The members were reminded Schreiber Town Hall on Wednesday, February ist at 8:15 P.M. At the close of the meeting a Penny Auction was conducted by Mrs. F.Bryson and Mrs, A, Fraser. 'Members showered Mrs. D,Coupal, who was unfortunate enough to lose many of her things in a recent fire, with gifts. A refreshment committee composed of Mesdames N.C oe, A.Rowley, K.Weppler, R.Duncan, S,Brown and I.Marsh and Mr,A.Farrow and Mr.C,Sitch, served lunch. Sharlene Pineault left Tuesday for New Liskeard to attend High School while residing with her Uncle Mr.Owen Jones, Sharlene had spent the holiday season with her parents, Mr.& Mrs. E,Pineault. Bruce MacDonald of Port Arthur was a guest at the home of Mr.& Mrs. J.Clancy over New Year's weekend and visited with his many friends in Terrace Bay.
