Members of the Moose Lodge and their in- vited guests have planned a party in the Moose Hall which also promises to be a well- attended and gay affair. To one and all, whether planning to attend a public gathering or not, the "News" ex- tends the wish for a Very Happy and Success- ful 1961, FRIDAY FILM SHOW CANCELLED Due to the fact that we are unable to arrange for a suitable film for this Friday, the show has been cancelled. We accept only films judged as A-1 by the. National Legion of Decency, and the film originally scheduled for Friday has been classified as A-2. Film shows will continue on Saturday, January 14th with "The Buccaneer" starring , Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner. : NEW ACTIVITY ROOM AT RECREATION CENTRE ' Alterations are underway in the "new" room at the Recreation Centre. The room will be officially opened within the next few weeks, as soon as repairs are completed and games equipment is received. The new area, once used for billiards only, will soon be used as a club room and lounge area. It will contain ping-pong tables, dart boards, tables for cards, checkers and crib- - bage, lounge chairs and, eventually, shuffle- board courts, Tentative schedule for the room is as follows:- Weekdays: 9 A.M, - 4 P.M, - open to public 4 P.M, - 8 P.M. - Teen Town 8 P.M. - 10.30 - open to public Fridays: 9 A.M, - 4 P.M, - Open to public 4 P.M. - 10.30 P.M. = Teen Town Saturdays: 10 A.M, - 4 P.M, - Juniors (under supervision) 4PM, - 10.30 P.M, - Teen Town This schedule will fluctuate slightly to -- allow for such things as school examinations, curling bonspiels, hockey games or other events, It is felt that the changes planned will allow for much better use of the area by a larger percentage of the public, Watch the "News" for the opening date, Vol.3, No.52 LOUNGE: December 29, 1960 NEW TOWN CONSTABLE SWORN IN TUESDAY, DEC, 27TH On Tuesday, December 27th, in the Police Office on Simcoe Plaza, Magistrate T.A.Connor of Port Arthur conducted a short ceremony when Mr, H,R,Billings was sworn in as. Superiors haven't played at home since December 15th. On Tuesday, December 27th, The Superiors defeated Nipigon 12 -~ 4 placing then in a tie position with Ned Nock for leadership in the League, On Thursday night the Soups will be hungry for and determined to win against Red Rock for the first time this year. : The Superiors will play on Thursday with- out regular goal tender Don Dobson. Don is always a standout in the nets and his excel- lent goal-tending often is the big factor in a game. There will, however, be one of the reliable spare goalies'in the nets.
