Mrs.Crook and children Natalie and Burton accompanied them to Winnipeg. Mrs. Lorraine Bailey of Dryden spent the week-end in Schreiber visiting with friends. Mrs. A.S,Gordon and Jack were in Winnipeg last week attending the wedding of a nephew, Russell Partridge, ROCK-A-TEENS HOLD ANNUAL PARENT-TEEN DANCE ~ The Schreiber Rock-A-Teens held their Annual Parent-Teen dance on Friday, May 27th. Prizes were given for novelty dances and Mr, & Mrs. Len O'Brien were awarded a prize for being the parents with the greatest represen- tation, The evening proved a success and was' tho-= roughly enjoyed by all present. ST.ANDREWS W.A. HOLD SUPPER MEETING Last Thursday thirty-two members attended the June supper-meeting of the Women!s Assoc- iation of St.Andrews United Church, The President, Mrs,0.Niemi called forward six senior members to receive Honorary mem- berships in the W.A, Each honoured member received a gift and a corsage and presenta- tions were made as follows:-» Mrs.Annie Bailey - presented by Mrs. R,H.Skinner; Mrs. Jessie Macadam - by: Mrs, Beth Macadam; Mrs.Agnes McCouan ~ by Mrs. Annie Niemi; Mrs.Pearl Hiller - by Mrs.Nettie Thrower; Mrs.Ada Scott - by Mrs. Bern Whent; Mrs, Mildred Smith - by Mrs.M. Davis). Mrs. Connie Weaver also presented a gift and corsage, on behalf of the W.A, to Mrs. Helen Wallace in recognition of her services as Treasurer during a ten year period, Following the presentations members en- joyed a delicious supper. Mrs.G.Gordon said Grace, The meeting was presided over by Mrs,Niemi and the devotional period was led by Mrs.N. Smith, Minutes and correspondence were read by Mrs.Skinner and reports were given as follows:-- Treasurer - Mrs,W,Thrower; Flower Fund ~ Mrs.Ridsdale; Card Sec. = Mrs,Hiller and Mrs.B.Jacombs; Sewing Dept. ~ Mrs.Niemi; Kitchen - Mrs.R,Nacadam; Manse - Mrs .Whent, A donation toward expenses incurred dur- ing attendance at the 3rd Annual Institute of Choir Music in Winnipeg was given to Mrs, Skinner, The W.A. agreed to cater to a Golden Wedding Anniversary Dinner on June 28th, Convenor will be Mrs.B.Whent assisted by Mesdames M,Nesbitt, E.Gray, N.Fummerton, C, Weaver and J, Naeddam, A gift of Theology books will be presen- ted to Mr.Douglas Sly who will be ordained into the Ministy on June 9th. -Thevceremony will take place during the Conference of the United Church of Canada being held this week in Winnipeg. Rev. Crook will make the pre- sentation. A cheque was donated to the local W.M.S. Mrs.Niemi closed the meeting with prayer. Minutes and correspondence were read by Mrs.W.Christie and Mrs.J.Morris gave the. Treasurer's report, On behalf of the Group Mrs.Ross expressed thanks to Mrs.A.Nykanen and her committee for the delicious supper enjoyed previous to the meeting. A tea planned for June 15th has been Rogtn | poned, The Kinette Supper on June 18th will be convened by Mrs.R.Gander and Mrs,K.William- son will be in charge of Vanilla Sales being conducted to procure a coffee urn for the Church kitchen, A cheque was donated to the Church Board for Financess and a sum of See | donated toward expenses incurred when Mrs.A, Gordon attends the 3rd Annual Institute of Choir Music in Winnipeg. Farewell gifts were presented by Mrs.Ross to Mrs.W,Davie and Mrs.P,Hrynyk who will leave the Community to reside in Toronto and Fort William respectively, The best wishes of the group go with them. Hostesses for September will be Mesdames R.Gander, N.Ross, K.Davis and W.Lidkea. A social time followed the meeting, SHOWER Ti.
