Following intermission the chorus again sang four selections, this time some rousing sca chanties followed by a brass quartctte whose spirited sclections were greatly enjoyed Members of the quartette were W. Colborne, F,. Gould, P, Rapke and L. Kimerer, All are members of the newly formed Terrace Bay Band. The next four selections included numbers which the choir will sing with the massed choirs during the "Big ; Sing" when associated choruses meet this year and present one concert at the Lakehead and one in Terrace Bay some time in May, -- The audience', reluctant to have the evening end, applauded the chorus into two encores = one a nonsense number - "I Wish I Was" concluded the programme and left the audience with a feeling of contented enjoy- ment. The Ladies Chorus would also be guests at the May mecting. Lunch report was . given by Mrs, Audrey Smith.(Cont'd next column The President thanked her committee aml the ladies who had assisted in presenting the Fashion Show and Luncheon. The Manse Furnishing Committee of Mrs. R. Paget, MrseGe Soughton, Mrs. E. Evans-Smith and from the Afternoon Group, Mrs, L. McCausland, were given authority to proceed with the furnishing. The annual donation was made by the Auxiliary to the World Refugee Fund. Dr. Lavender claborated on the extreme need for assistance to the refugees of the world,some fifteen million of which are: still homeless, Announcenient of the Coffee Hour and Bake Sale Friday evening was made by: the President this project put on by the Christmas Bazaar Committee. Mrs, Stella Brown requested any materials or patterns suitable for doll clothes for the NoveleyTable at the Bazaar, The Annual Congregational Pot Luck Supper will be held on Sunday, May 15, convened by Mrs. L. Hopper. Mrs. HE. Evans-Smith and Mrs. H,. Farrell volunteered to assist. The Mothers Day Spring Tea and Bake Sale will be held May 7th and the Rummage Sale will be held in May this year convened by Mrs. Alice Farrow. Progrem Convenor, Mrs.Brooks, took pleasure in presenting Dr. Lavender with his annual message at Haster time. Dr. Lavender gave a very inspiring talk'to the members on the theme. "Hope" and was thanked by Mrs, N. Coe. Mrs, Brooks then showed some very pretty springtime slides and the evening concluded with hot cross buns and tea served by Mrs. Helen Farrell and her committee, The Afternoon Group of the Ladies Auxil» lary got underway Menday aftcr the showing of three short films on cancer detection. Mrs. &. Maitland thanked Miss Wood for her assistance. Mrs. D. Wade chaired the mecting in the absence of Mrs. Ostling. Mrs. Vida Laporte played the piano to accompany the opening hymn and Mrs. Maitland conducted the Devotional period. lianutes of the Last meeting were read followed by the correspondence by the Secretary.
