MARATHON HOST AT GUIDE RALLY Twenty-five Guides and two leaders from Terrace Bay attended the Girl Guide Rally held in Marathon this past week-end, arriv- ing at 7.30 on September 18th, Discussion groups were held Friday evening, and follow- ing campfire, the girls were assigned to billets in private homes, Saturday morning competitive games, fun games and a scavenger hunt kept them happily occupied with the afternoon being spent at Three Fingers Lake Campsite with further competitive games held for which points were awarded the different Companies, The winn- ing Company receiving a shield donated by the Local Associations to Guides and Brownies of Marathon, Terrace Bay and Manitouwadge, A cook out supper preceded the campfire which) was complete with skits and singsong. Mrs, D. Earle, District Commissioner, presented the plaque to the Ist Marathon Girl Guide Company, the winners with the highest number of points in competition, Sunday morning Church parade was held at both Churches with the Color Ceremony 'especially impressive with the four sets of flags. A total of 102 Guides participated in the week-end activities coming from the Ist and 2nd Marathon Companies, Ist Manitou- wadge and Ist Terrace Pay Companies. Mrs. Lois Downey, Guide Captain, would like -to extend thanks to all the parents who provided transportation to and from Marathon for the Terrace Bay Guides. The Guides hope to make this an annual event as it was voted a tremendous success by all the girls attending. SCHREIBER HIGH HOME & SCHOOL MEETING HELD Monday evening the Schreiber High Home and School met with a large attendance of parents and students. The teachers address- ed the meeting, spoke to the parents in par- ticular asking for their co-operation in regular attendance of the pupils, After the meeting lunch was served and a social hour was enjoyed.
