Frank Strutt, Secretary-Treasurer of the Improvement District acted as Returning Offi- cer with Bill Hanley assisting. Two candidates were nominated for Reeve and sixteen were nominated for Council, The nominees were allowed from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M. on June 11th to appear the Municipal Office to qualify for office. All those nominated qual- ified with just one exception, The qualified candidates who will seek election on June 24th are:-- For Reeve W.E.Cavanaugh and J.A. The poll will be in the Curling Lounge at the Recreation Centre and will be open from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M. i PUBLIC 'SCHOOL SUPPORTERS MEET WEDNESDAY ,-17TH This Wednesday, supporters of the Public School will meet in the large room in the Recreation Centre at 7 P.M, to nominate and elect three trustees for the Public School Board. This is the first time in Terrace Bay that Public School trustees will be elected, there- fore, all Public School supporters are urged to attend on Wednesday, June 17th at 7 P.M. to nominate and vote for candidates of their choice as Public School trustees. BUSINESS AS USUALII4 While the first Municipal Election rapidly approaches a climax the present gowerning body of Terrace Bay continues to administer 'the affairs of the Town in its usual competent manner. P.E,Boudreau, Contractor, has been award- ed a contract to erect a residence on . McDonald Avenue to be occupied by the Prin- cipal of the Public School. This same company has also been awarded the contract for landscaping boulevards and installing extentions to sidewalks. The Flyer distributed to residents this week posed questions which many people would be interested in hearing answered. DISTRICT SCHOOLS ANNOUNCE STAFF CHANGsS The Schreiber High School Board have to date engaged three new teachers to commence their duties in September and are presently negotia- ting for a Science teacher, Grade x11 will again be offer ed in the School, The Principal will be Mr.Stan Korchuk of Ottawa with staff members D, D'Amour of Wind- sor and P,A,Isaac of Vancouver, B.C, Terrace Bay High School will welcome to their Staff Mr. Peter L.Saunders a University of Toronto graduate who now resides in Scar- borough, St.Martin!s School staff will be increased to seven teachers. Miss M.Gentile takes over Kindergarten and Miss Priske and Miss McLellan : will also join the staff. The Terrace Bay Public School will also open another room and increase the staff to nine members. Miss E.Ceaser of Owen Sound will teach in Kindergarten, Miss M,Baker in Grade One, Miss R.Leschuk in Grade two, Miss A.Wood in Grade Three, Miss E.Berry (who has been teaching in Rossport) in .Grade Four, Mrs, E,Peters again in charge of grade Five, Mrs. W.Colborne in Grade Six, Mr, B.Brandon (from Grand Bend Public School) in Grade Sev- en and the Principal, Mr. W.Colborne will © teach in Grade Hight.
