Grade eight: lst -Nancy McIlwraith of Marathon Public School; 2nd = Robert ° Legault of Rossport Public School. The Knights of Columbus receive a hearty 'thank-yout from the 'North Shore towns in- volved in this annual competition for the incentive it provides to improve and surpass scholastically. It was quite evident the aplomb of the Grade four students found them in command of a much higher level while the higher grades, lacking this confidence, fell off rapidly. The strength of the Spelling Bee as an annual event would be -not only with the improvement in ability but also in the accompanying poise, so necessary in our competitive world of today, Betty and Jack Luke of Trenton, Ontario have spent the past two weeks in Terrace Bay visiting Betty's parents, Mr. and Mrs, G. Dodge and are now enroute to France where Jack will be stationed. Charmaine Dodge arrived last weekend to visit her parents and to bid bon voyage to her sister and bro- ther-in-law. Charmain was accompanied from Dryden by her fiancee, Bryon Durance. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Doig of Trenton are the -|' guests of Mr. and Mrs. Norman McCuaig, SCHREIBER FIGURE SKATING CLUB EXHIBITION _ An appreciative audience attended the annual exhibition of the figure skating club when the following guest artists from the Ft, William club added much to the enjoyment: Gloriajean Sibley, Donna & Sheryl Bohonos, Margot Remus and Lynda Gibbons.
